Licensed Pulse Rifle pre-order

I'm in the UK and am still waiting. I believe the PRs are in town and have started shipping, so it shouldn't be long.
I emailed Propstore about the droop but havn't heard anything back from them ( why these companies have contact details is beyond me!).
They have stated in their blurb, however, that each PR will be checked before they are sent out. I hope they got a batch of good ones.

Hey Yorkie,

I went to the PSL yesterday and collected mine. Upon my arrival there was a couple of guys in the hanger/storage going through ALL of the PR's and checking them. Some have had to be sent back for electrical faults. They kept a very good example aside for me - I LOVE mine!

You have to remember that these are, in essence, a mass produced display item.

I find myself thinking back on Master Replicas. Certainly, they had a couple of QC issues with rubber grips coming off lightsabers and bad paint on helmets, but on the whole their QC was good AND their replicas were comparatively inexpensive compared to the HCG PR.

I'll say nothing about hard-core accuracy but the workmanship most of their pieces was fantastic and I can't imagine aluminum shrouds being harder to produce than certain MR pieces.

Take, as one example, the Han Solo ANH Elite Edition blaster. All-metal, moving trigger, wood grips, including a mirror display case. For $499 as I recall. The workmanship on that replica was nigh-on flawless! Even the packaging was luxurious. Damn, I regret having to sell that piece right now. :cry

Several replica companies have produced replicas in metal that had pretty complex shapes to reproduce. I think it's really down to luck in finding a factory that can produce quality work. I have no doubt in my mind that HCG went into this with the intention of producing the most incredible prop replica any of us had ever seen. They even enlisted two of the most knowledgeable PR experts there are to do so. Some of their other pieces seem to be great. No one should have to put up with a wonky rifle for $900 but at the same time I'm sure that the people at HCG aren't too happy about this situation either. I imagine there's a lot of sweating-under-collars going on in their office right now about how to fix this situation.

Anyway... I just got word that Propstore are shipping out their stock today. Apparently they only had to take out ONE rifle that had a drooping barrel. So, I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be greeting my box with a big smile when it arrives.

Great news that they are checking stock carefully, at least it means we should receive decent examples.
Can we now add electrical problems to the list of QC cock-ups!!!

Yeah it looks that way. The guys at PSL were just as un-impressed by this as the rest of us.
I think nit's safe to say that if you have ordered from the PSL then you are in good hands.

We shall see:confused

Like you say, Smally, Propstore should be able to sort out the **** from the good stuff.

The MR Han Elite retailed originally for $649 or $600 and then went down in price due to slow sales. It is a really sweet piece.

Ah... right you are! Still, 649 for that piece with all it included is a bargain for something that is 50% resin. I am reserving judgement until I hold my HCG Pulse Rifle myself but the photos posted by Darthdarren are not encouraging.

The info I got from PSOL earlier today was that they only had to send back ONE rifle due to the barrel droop and that it wasn't much of a problem. No mention of the electronics besides that they had checked them on all copies. They were supposedly shipping today as well!

WEll, as I stated earlier, I sent an email to HCG:

They replied to my question. It appears that refunding it is an option, but I am not so sure about an exchange..

At least you have gotten a response. I've sent (2) emails and got nothing. I guess they are hoping I'll just go away.

Time to have a conversation with my favorite PLLC suits.

I forgot to mention that the first time I turned my counter on it flickered for a few seconds. Since then, it's been working just fine for the dozen or so times I've switched it on and off. Crossing the fingers...

As long as the counter stays on. Can't cope with one of those intermittent elecrical faults.

Just got an email from Propstore. It's on it's way and will be here on Friday.
Because the guys at Propstore have been through and checked them all, I'm actually feeling pretty confident that it's going to be OK.

Will try and post some pics. when it arrives.

Ok, I got to check out a friend's PR yesterday and I'm 50/50. It's heavier than my MIM with TM Airsoft Thompson and metal upgrades. The Shrouds are awesome and great work on the BB paint job, but I'm a little iffy on the rest. The GL pump handle is WAY too loose on his, just barely tilting the gun will cause it to slide back. The Thompson bolt is also a bit flimsy. It's kinda weird, they spent all this time on making the tough metal shrouds but the rest of the gun you gotta baby... I wouldn't trust it at a Con. They should have teamed up with the cheaper airsoft Thompson company, at least just for the body, they could have removed the inner workings. The resin parts are pretty rough in some areas and don't look like they came out of a factory, but rather out of someone's garage.

For a licensed prop, I give them a 10 for making it happen, 99% of the fan base will love it and they should, it's a great licensed prop. But as someone that builds props (and has built up a PR already), and not just collecting as a fan, I give it a 7. I'll stick to my MIM/airsoft.

I got my tracking info from PSOL as well. Hopefully it'll reach me middle of next week.

PSOL did say that their stock had a slight, slight droop but that it was nothing to be concerned over. Here's hoping...

I have to admit, it makes a nice addition to the bar...
