Licensed Pulse Rifle pre-order

I just saw on HGC's website that they have changed the estimated ship date from the 4th quarter of 2009 to the 1st quarter of 2010, which means it could ship anywhere between Jan 1, 2010 and March 30, 2010, if even then.

It looks like another Christmas present to myself bites the dust.:cry

I'm hopin' this is either a typo or due to restrictions/work flow of the postal services during the holiday season. They always get jammed up this time of year.

I'm paid up, so I'm jus' sittin' back and enjoying the anticipation! :love

By the way - I watched a History Channel show called Pawn Stars, and one dude brought in a super-rare 18th century English Musketoon that he'd found in his grandmother's garage. Turned out to be worth a small fortune. The antique firearms appraiser said on the show that this particular gun was nicknamed "Brown Bess." Apparently all British muskets during the years of British imperial expansion were called "Brown Bess."

And the whole time I thought it was just a color...

Well, it's what I'm getting, so at least now I know the history! :)

I don't think its a typo, since they actually changed the message on the website from 4th Quarter of 2009 to 1st Quarter of 2010, but it could be because of heavy work flow of the postal services.

It would be nice of them to give us a heads up and let us know what is happening, but that is probably too much too ask.

Their Alien bust has also moved to 1st quarter 2010. Shipping delays never really come as much as a surprise to me - happens all the time w/vendors like Sideshow and Bowen.

Gunny R. Lee Ermey fired a 1805 "Brown Bess" smooth bore musket on one of his episodes of Lock-n-Load (Rifles part 1). It had a range of about 50 yards. Like shooting a paintball marker with old paint. Ever see a paintball UFO in action before? You get the picture.. LOL...

It was almost better to pummel you enemy with the musket butt than waste time trying to load and fire the darn thing...

While I'm not too surprised to hear the news, I am surprised they waited until 3 weeks before the 4thqt deadline to change it. Some communication would be nice. I'm moving to Philly in a month or two and was hoping I could get this before then to avoid dealing with the hassle of making sure they send it to the correct address.

Also, they never asked for my final payment. That's happening when they're ready to ship, correct, or did I miss an e-mail?

I emailed them yesterday and they responded saying that yes, it has been delayed, but they can't give us anymore than what has been posted on the website. They would not say why it was delayed, except to say that with a high end piece like this, they don't want to rush things and that we will be very happy when we finally get them.

Why would anyone have reason to think that we would get stiffed on this? I am in for the exclusive, and if extra time is needed to ensure the best PR replica ever, then I am in no hurry.

OMG I've been waiting, what seems like forever for one of you guys to get one of these and post pictures. If this goes bad and no one gets their pulse rifles I'm going to be so bothered.

You're welcome to come over and fondle mine when I get it.

...my pulse rifle, that is.

Exactly. I'm sure they don't want to deal with a flow of returns/repairs like they did with the Korban Dallas blaster (which, for the record, I believe they handled extremely well).

There's no reason at all. Thus far HCG have appeared to be an upstanding company, providing some very nice looking pieces. If we have to wait another month or two, so be it. These delays happen all too often to be a concern.
