Hello everyone, first post here from a long-time lurker.
Essentially, I have access to drills, mills, lathes and lots of metal at the moment, and I was wondering about trying to make a replica laser screwdriver out of metal. The main problem is, I have no idea how to go about making the extension mechanism for it.

As you can see here, there is a large switch on the side, which, when pressed, causes the head and the three small emitters to extend. This is a spring driven mechanism, and unfortunately that's all I can find/work out. If anyone has any idea how this works, could you please tell me! It's driving me mad, and I'm sure that the solution is actually really simple...:confused
Any help would be much appreciated.
