Ladies can be Iron Man too (everything but the shoulders, pg 35)

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (partial suit up page 34!)

I've seen this thread on the forum for a while now and have been putting off reading through 30+ pages of posts. The Lord of the rings would be quicker to get through I thought.

How wrong I was. Skipping through all the "but you're a woman...do pepper potts" "you've got boobs...do pepper potts" "I like your build because you're a woman...ever thought of doing pepper potts?" posts I ended up on page 34 in no time.

Bravo for your video. While certainly not the most informative of instructional videos out there, it is definitely the quirkiest. The build is looking, in the words of Bill & Ted, most bodacious too

Just one question though.......erm........ever thought of doing Pepper Potts? :confused lol??

There are so many videos on building with foam I figured it couldn't hurt to go the entertainment route <3 glad you like the thread and the video and the build and all that, it's been two years in the making! And to settle the question once and for all, I will never ever ever ever ever do Potts in armor. Because holy crap what were those writers thinking?

However I will consider this one.

Those shorts and that hat? Whatever floats your boat I suppose.

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (partial suit up page 34!)

Iron Man translates pretty good to pep because of the angles. Looks good so far!

I had to look up "Chicago screws" though. I've seen them before, but never heard them called by their name. I think I can use those on my Endor rifle sling. Thanks!

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (partial suit up page 34!)

Truly nice work.
How many piece of foam has it taken to get to this point?

Can't wait to see the finished build.

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (partial suit up page 34!)

I saw a near complete suit up tonight, and I must confess it's way cooler than I ever expected it to be. The proportions are all perfect too, which is where many people go wrong, I think. I think the next set of pics are really going to impress some folks!

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (partial suit up page 34!)

It seems like I've seen a few builds of late that forget the hip/cod piece. Way to NOT forget, Laam. As to the other pic, the bathing suit AND the shorts would both cause seizures. Please don't!

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (partial suit up page 34!)

Could have someone take a photo of the back as you wear it? I was looking at it and something niggled in my head. I don't know if it's an issue with the angles of the photo or I'm actually seeing something, but something looked "off" of that back view where the shoulder meets the back plate. I'm not really sure what it is I'm seeing but on the inside of the curve where the should meets the back plate it just looks a little weird to me. Am I making any sense?

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (partial suit up page 34!)

A extremely impressive build Laam! Your a pro cutting foam, the tolerances on getting it to form fit so well are tight. The build is really channeling the comics version more than the movie builds which are bulkier.

No problem! They're really nifty little things, I love them.

Awesome progress, Laam! :D

Thanks a ton!

You know that bathing suit is straight up amazing. Don't play.

I'll see what I can do next time I suit up!

Thanks dude! I think that the mark 3 was bulky as all hell but the mark 4 and 6 seem sleek.I think it's more like most guys on here aren't tiny little RDJ!

Some of that shortness is from the perspective of the picture. He's standing further back from the rest.

That being said,

Chris Hemsworth is 6'4
Tony Hiddleston is 6'2
Chris Evans is 6'
Robert Downey Jr is 5'9
Jeremy Renner is 5'9
Mark Ruffalo is 5'8
Scarlette Johannson is 5'4

So yeah, RDJ is shorter but not dramatically unless you put him next to Chris Hemsworth.

I've been watching this thread closely, and it's looking really good, the fact it's closer to RDJ's hight as well only adds to the awesomeness!
