Ladies can be Iron Man too (everything but the shoulders, pg 35)

Laamberry (and several others) have repeatedly said that she's building Iron MAN armor. The builder and wearer just happens to be a woman.

Hmm clearly sarcasm is a new concept to you. Or else you would have realized in the ridiculousness of my statements that I was being facetious.

My apologies; I wasn't completely sure if you were serious or joking! Based on other posts in this thread it didn't seem entirely "ridiculous" ;):lol

No worries. I don't know why so many people are having trouble with the concept behind her costume. In fact there is a whole genre of cosplay/costume that is based on being someone of the opposite gender.

Nice work Lam, am enjoying the build. Am impressed with anyone who can pep a decent looking helmet together, as I've made a mess of two so far. Yours looks gold! Can't wait to see more progress and the end piece.

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (video on page 31!)

First , thank you all SO MUCH for the likes, comments, subs, and encouragement! <3 I'm nothing without you, seriously.

I have been sooo tempted to be obnoxious and every so often ask "When do the boobs go on it?", but I haven't. Seeing everyone else really asking is funny enough.

Looks good. How strong is it once it's hot glued? You're braver than I am because my idea for a first pep project was going to be a Star Wars helmet scaled to the little Riddell helmets!

It's VERY strong. If I glue a piece in wrong, the foam will rip long before the seams will. And it takes everything I've got to tear the foam, even with a slit cut in it to get it started.

I actually enjoyed some of your videos and like others have said, it is fun seeing other people in their creative processes. Thanks, put a smile to my face and keep on building. The armor looks great!

Thanks so much for watching! :D

I know I rarely comment on your thread here laam, but I gotta tell ya a couple of things first - thanks for keeping this alive and showing me I am not the only one taking forever to finish Iron Man, I really appreciate you making me not feel like a total loss. lol j/k second - I just watched your video and enjoyed it a lot. Not super intuitive but enough to allow the person who wants to tackle a project like this pointed in the right direction and have the joys of figuring out the little things. (Part of why we all do this anyway right!) Keep up the great work and looking forward to the next post.

Awww everything you said is so sweet!! But yeah, I just couldn't bear the idea of letting this project sink into nothing after I put so much time into it. And even though it's been like what...almost two years now? I still want to be Iron Man just as badly as the first time I left the theater.

So, all that's left now is the cod, one "boot", and the shoulders. I'm starting to get a little nervous! Worst of all the cod is being absurdly hard to scale :( everything else has scaled beautifully but I guess my big lady hips just won't work with me. It always ends up far too small...I'm really starting to get worried that they'll look out of proportion to the rest of the manly looking build. Wish me luck!

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (more progress pg 30))

I also need to work on making an image that says "No, this is Iron MAN" that I can repost every time somebody says something like this.

something like this? ;)

oh, and a very nice video!

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (video on page 31!)

Boobs on armour only ever works for costumes or role-play. :rolleyes

Something I'm glad to see they're not doing on Game of Thrones either.

I'm stuck on the fact that those 3 arrows look like they're coming out of the horse's a** and through the lady's neck. :confused

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (video on page 31!)

Hey, what did you use for scale? I'm like 5'2 and female and having a hard time resizing the pep files. I also think we are both using the same pep as well for foam builds. Thanks :)

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (video on page 31!)

Call me crazy, but I look forward to seeing this build complete.
