Ladies can be Iron Man too (everything but the shoulders, pg 35)

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (partial suit up page 34!)

Some of that shortness is from the perspective of the picture. He's standing further back from the rest.

That being said,

Chris Hemsworth is 6'4
Tony Hiddleston is 6'2
Chris Evans is 6'
Robert Downey Jr is 5'9
Jeremy Renner is 5'9
Mark Ruffalo is 5'8
Scarlette Johannson is 5'4

So yeah, RDJ is shorter but not dramatically unless you put him next to Chris Hemsworth.

Mr. Downey Jr is actually 5'8 max, but that's splitting hairs D:

That costume is looking absolutely fantastic. Do you think you will have it done for DragonCon ?

Oh absolutely! I'm shooting for SDCC, actually.

That looks very good, is there another piece for the right side like shown on the left? that's left as it's worn, the right as you look at it.

It's there, just washed out from the poor lighting.

Looks fantastic Laam! I know you won't like this but after seeing the suit all together it does look very feminine. Eventhough you were trying to steer clear of a "womanized" build the dimensions and the slenderness across the abdoman really make for a more streamlined hourglass look. That's not a bad thing. The suit looks great, probably the best foam suit I've seen yet. Great work. What are you doing for the helmet. Foam or resin?

Sort of a shame, huh? I've been messing around with it, trying to fix it a little bit. I lot of it is the way I have the ab section set up. I just realized that I have a big part of it off! It makes it look way more girly..the chest could also stand to be larger. I'm hoping the arms and shoulders will balance me out :)

The helmet is sort of both...I'm still working on my resin helmet but I want to have a foam one to lug around at cons.

Ahh with looking a 18th and 19th time I see it. I just love the way all of the pieces flow together. You have really done a major outstanding job M'lady.

Can't wait to see how that looks painted. I would have already ruined it by now doing Iron Man stuff around the house... :lol

Take away the hair and the crown of his skull would still crest around the 5'9" mark. The 5'8" mark passes right through the top of his forehead.:p

Frankly with the plethora of Iron Men, you're better off going with the "womanized" concept. It looks great either way.

Beside, you know Tony would have had Jarvis make Pepper a "special" set of armor.

i would luv to see the guys face when they see there's a lady inside the suit.:D

He did (which is where EyeOfSauron was going with that pic, I think). At least in the comics - two suits, actually. The first Rescue suit looked a little insectoid, to me, but the current version looks very much like a feminized version of his newest "Bleeding Edge" suit. I grabbed a copy of a pic a while back... there it is. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/...01230623.30158.100000318510356&type=3&theater

From 'Invincible Iron Man' #29. Similar to her original Rescue suit, the new one is powered by her own in-chest arc reactor and has no dedicated offensive weaponry, but has enormous strength, durability, and the ability to generate and control powerful magnetic fields which she's used to catch and throw objects ranging from cars to planes; it also has a built-in AI, called JARVIS (Just Another Really Very Intelligent System). A "movie version" of that suit, which I'd have to design of course, is on my long-term build list for my wife. I have to finish my step-daughter's Iron Man Mk 6 and my own Iron Monger first, though. I'm way behind on those.:$

To try and keep this thread on topic - Laam, your suit's looking AWESOME. Can't wait to see it finished. I expect the finished product to be stunning.

I think this is coming along really well. A labor of love to be sure. I think that it's really inevitable to have the suit appear somewhat femenized but I agree too that that's not a bad thing. I can only guess, but I bet there will be a lot of people in general doing double takes once you're all suited up.

Keep up the great work!

(y)thumbsup
