I freaking love this build. It is looking really really good. Where did you get those reference photos you have taped up behind the helmet? Would really love to see a copy of this since I'm getting ever so close to detailing mine :p

Do have to say it is awesome to see someone make awesome stuff like this and especially the face of RPF on Youtube :p

Don't feel outdated. I'm doing this because I have been a huge fan of Ironman for a long time. Marvel got me through bad school years, so thats the reason I do mine! :p

Thing is if you enjoy it, who gives a flying monkeys what others think. Its like the fact that a while before Ironman there must have been other stuff that was really overdone. It is the fashion in which it works.

Big Big LOVE for the pictures. This is very very helpful. Is this exclusive to you since I'd like to put it in my topic if that is okay? Credit to you of course for the help :p

it really is a great buy, unfotunately now to get your hands on one is really expensive, they only printed so many copies. got mine for about 80 in hardcover ;)

HOLY CRAP! I was looking at that book on Amazon only a couple months ago, and they had the paperback version for twenty-five bucks. Looking now, it costs a hundred dollars. Wow...

You think that's bad ? The History of the Fifth Element by Besson will set you back a couple of hundred :eek But if you look, there's always a cheaper one if you get lucky. I just picked up a copy of the 5th Element book for 29 Euro (OK, its in French :lol, but I'll muddle through somehow).

On the Iron Man build, looking forward to see the video Laamberry & Matt.

LOL, that was fast. Just saw your video Laam. For the lines, if you have a steady hand, I suggest a hobby drill (dremmel I think you call it ?). Just draw the line first where you want it. Next, very lightly etch on it with a sharp point till there is a very, very, shallow groove, just enough to 'guide' the drill tip so it won't go flying off with a mind of its own. Then very slowly, run the drill tip back & forth and make it deeper each time. A little depth at a time though, not all at once.

EDIT - Important point I forgot to mention. Don't make the new groove width exactly flush with the 'old' line. Leave a millimetrical bit or so away from each edge. This is so when you finish, you can use a thin slip of fine sandpaper to smoothen any rough edges left by the drill tip, and then new groove edges will just meld into the same size as the old one.

Got to see the video ... your Iron man helmet is turning out great ... I really appreciate the attention to detail with it ... Also think it is retarded funny you painted yourself green in a way you cant wash off ... diggin the comical goofy stuff ... takes a real person to admit they perm painted themselves green to the audience that is the internet ... props laam and no pun intended
