I'm still just trying to figure a way to mount the thing vertically on the wall. LOL!

Use a wallmount for guitars.That works great.
I use this one because the arms are with rubberfilm so you cannot scratch the saber:

The metal for the base came in today so I decided to finish the side emitters. I re-made the bottom flares out of thicker stock to make it look right then blued everything again.

The metal for the handle comes in tomorrow so I'll try to finish the handle by tom night.

I'm gonna try to make a list of ppl who want kits so I know how much material I need to order if need be. This is what I got.

saw a kylo along with 2 lukes and 1 yoda today at barns and Nobel.. I already have the kylo but it was very depressing leaving without buying 1 Luke.... damn holidays and its season of giving...

Here's a better look at the whole Saber with the new completed side emitters.




I had some figured walnut hanging around in the shop so I used to that to mount mine vertically. Any kind of wood would work too, or you can paint it.

Just to update you guys, I've finished making and gluing up the handle details. I don't think I'm going to be making a kit for the handles, it's just too much fiddling and way too many cuts that need to be perfectly straight. So here's how it looks right now, probably gonna paint it tonight and do the weathering tomorrow.

Must you install the new "arms" the same way like the old ones?Push it on the sides and fix it with the sticks from the top?

The side emitters are pressure fir onto the side blades themselves. The base is pinned along with the side blades like they came. I just finished the paint on the handles but I'm probably gonna redo the paint a bit since I didn't have that many colors to paint with.





What do you guys think? Did I miss anything?

Here's a final update on th the mods I've been making to my force fx. Finished the paint job, basically just made the weathering look more like the pics of the hero prop.

I also couldn't find the size metal I need for the kits for the price I found, I should have bought way more stock with the cyber Monday prices. I can Still do the kits just for $55 instead of 45, sorry guys. Pm me if you're still interested so I can start making kits.

Well, after regretting not buying the one I saw at the Oxford street disney store in London yesterday, for an insane 230 British pounds (345$ !), here I come by accident on an add on Amazon France for the sabre at 30% off and free shipping, which amounts to 175$. Next to the British price, I couldn't resist !

Just modded the bottom cap on my saber yesterday to have a more anodized red color, but I don't really know if its accurate as I don't have many references. Does anyone have any good reference pics of the bottom red cap?

The original red paint, really made the bottom look like a toy.

That looks nice.I was in the movie today...and sadly you cannot see really good shots of the saber hilt there.
Its very dark in the near shots.

Does look great.However I just dont like the red,no matter if its movie accurate or not...It just cheapens the look imo..A rusty metal or rusty black would be much more fitting..But I think it was reddish in the film..BTW:Anyone seen the movie yet?Is it any good?

I was in the movie yesterday and it was great.But I haven´t seen good clear shots of Kylos saber.You have a scene where you can see the saber very close..but its too dark.

Yeah I just came back from seeing it, it was great gotta go see it again in Imax. I like how the red looks it's kinda reminiscent of jewels in the pommels of medieval swords.

Yes the saber was so awesome.The sound was the same as on the FX one.
