Kylo Ren Fabric

I noticed from the vanity fair photo shot that kylo rens under garments shown in the sleeves and pants und the tunic are pleated. Almost like the scrunches women wear. Also Jo Ann has fabric that looks like Kylos. As well some black Burlap weaves have the same pattern found on the prop.

No pleats for the pants. Just the sleeves and under tunic that goes down to knees.

Kylo_Ren_Without_Mask.jpgThis Vanity Fair photo shows the under garments are rolled/pleated. See protrude right thigh. Not to start and argument, bt to be 501st Legion appove, it has to be as accurate as possible to movie and approved photographs.

I know all about 501st approval and have been researching Kylo for quite sometime now. What I mentioned earlier and what Lewis said, it's the inner tunic/mid-coat.

Love the costume ,just one question the pleated mid coat is said to be of a wool fabric ,would this be a wool suiting fabric,or something different any ideas would be appreciated

Midcoat: The wool is TIGHT weaves and lightly fuzzy. It's something between wool suiting and typical wool you see at joannes. Upclose I could hardly see weaves in the midcoat but it was fuzzy for sure

Also the photo you posted of me in the midcoat above. Note that the sleeves are a cotton! The midcoat is sleeveless! :)

Sni9er; I don't recall if it was talked about but what is the lining, second layer of material under the basket weave surcoat..? We many not have any solid answers, but... It has to have been talked about somewhere.

dday haha well we can talk about it now ^^ i do not think it is a reflective materiel so not a poly i'm going for a 100% Cotton Lining something akin to shirting fabric

Likely right, but the lack of solid information sucks... oh well, it's to be expected! It flows pretty well if you see the vanity fair shoot videos, but it's not to light, it seems to be the same weight as the surcoat.

Attempted to dye my blankets. Ended up with navy blue. I did a quick test with black Plasti-dip and was over the moon with my results!

FYI you guys smashed the new 100 meter run in under a day haha i give it about 2 hours before i get another mail asking to be in on the run

always stragglers haha

I am working on the sleeves and I thought that I read somewhere that there were a set number of pleats on it. That does not make sense to me, esp a number of 37. The arms on the actor must be pretty darn long. I come up with 25 inches for sleeves and that is about an inch per pleat considering some pleats are larger than others.

My final assessment was one please per every one inch to 1.5 inches. So yes exactly 1 1/4 is perfect! They are super uneven :)

The 37 thing just so happened to be how many were in Adam drivers costume... Well I'm 5'9 I ended up with only 32 with scale.
