“Close enough” Old Obi Wan costume fabric help and advice request

Hola my friends!

Question: I’m making my first Old Obi Wan Alec Guinness costume. I have the robe already. But finding an *affordable* material for the costume itself here in the USA has been a serious problem for me. May I ask for fabric suggestions please? Here are some awesome photos of the actual screen used costume. See the material?

Is there a “close enough” fabric out there that‘ll work that doesn’t cost a thousand dollars? The few fabrics I’ve found are insanely priced. I simply don’t have a thousand bucks to spend. BUT! I know someone out there has find a “close enough” material! Who can help me here. I’m out of ideas.

So this whole post is asking, is there an affordable “close enough” material out there? For those of us on a budget? I don’t wanna use plain boring tan material. Surely there are other cool options! Help!
