Nutrient tube tips. Michell cone with 5/32" aluminium tube inside and 3mm copper rod inside that.

The aluminium tube attaches to the wheel, and the wheel then attaches to the nutrient tubes which are 3mm wire.

Here I've glued a piece of 1mm styrene sheet (with the mouth mesh on the other side) over the mouth area and filled the seam rounding the corner slightly. Then there is a second thicker layer of a triangle over that with the fabric over it. Black wire along the edge of the second layer acts as a trim.

Comparison with original.

I always thought the "zippers" were just for decoration, but they act as part of the rails and grooves system.

what size rivnuts did you use ?

Bending these wires to match the reference photos from all angles is pretty time consuming.

Honestly cannot remember. 3.2mm K & S aluminium tubing is a snug fit for the bits sticking out, then use a piece of 2.4mm telescoping in the 3.2mm, and the 1.6mm wires fit snugly inside the 2.4.

Getting the mask to close with these wires in is a whole other problem...

I had to remove material from insides of both halves of the mask (went right through the cheeks and had to fill it back in) but it finally closes.

I'm going to run into problems when I add the black wire trim around the edge of the fabric inside the mask. It is going to hit those front vocoder wires and there's only about 1mm clearance.

I did a nutrient tube paint test. I'm hoping that the gloss clear coat doesn't react with the heat shrink. Time will tell.

Could you not take a little away from the inner edge before you fit the material, just before you get to the rails
