Nice to see you used part of the booster bearing as your cone to connect with the emitter!

Re: The Kurtyboy Archives. New addition: Lewis Nixon hid something in my foot locker

This was my all real parts Obi ANH saber this time last year. Only thing wrong with it was the balance pipe while being from a Derwent engine, was the opposite facing 'male' version.

Top: Original prop. Bottom: Replica

That almost correct balance pipe:

Well, today I finally got a screen accurate balance pipe after these years. Still needs the black ring and some weathering as it's in what appears to be unused condition. Most of the assembly was originally done by James Kenobi 1138. He did a great job even matching the crookedness of the original as it appears in the Chronicles book.

This is awesome Marcus! With this Holy Grail, why are you worried about a shutter?

J/K... :)

I think old Vader would look stupid with this stuck in his eye! ;)

In a page full of an amazing Vader, a 3PO, and one sweet saber... those bottles of VAT 69 might be my favorite. :cool

Here's a 1939 Vat 69 Magazine Advertisement I had filed away in the "cool stuff I found during research" file.

Re: New addition to the Kurtyboy Archives: All real parts Pulse Rifle

Over three years in the making. All real parts plus custom machined add-ons, HCG shrouds and Noble sling. The grip is also the real Thompson part.

Very heavy.

Can't take the credit as all I did was buy the parts and do some of the painting and finishing! All the hard work was done by Sidewinder. Thanks again Simon for your quality work and incorporating all the accurate touches I asked for.

Kurtyboy Archives 10 Feb 2013. Lightsabers: New builds and upgrades!

Here are some of the lightsabers I've been working on recently. Mainly finally getting rid of the last rubber grips and upgrading to real t-track or Gino replicas (if I could just find a decent permanent double sided tape), some painting and weathering, and fun with spinning motors and Scotchlite! :cool

All the bubble strips, Kobold d-ring attachments and circuit boards (where applicable) are real. The V2 lever and cone knob will also be upgraded to real ones soon. I love real.

Not pictured are: Luke ESB 'severed hand' saber and Vader ANH real MPP.
