Kokkado | Rakuten Global Market: エルフィンナイツ M2019 blaster Takagi type Blade Runner igni

Re: Kokkado | Rakuten Global Market: エルフィンナイツ M2019 blaster Takagi type Blade Runner

I have the "older" Tomenosuke pro, if that counts and just received the Takagi this morning. Both are very well-made, and have a nice heft to them. But I'm really quite excited by the Takagi, especially considering the info spinner 44 added. The receiver, while plastic, looks very nice; it almost looks like the photos of the assembled retailer edition finish. I'd be interested to see a comparison between the two.

The only downside of the Takagi is the finish on the metal parts is a fingerprint magnet. Still, I think it's a well-built, accurate blaster representation that "fires"; affordable by people who don't want to or aren't allowed to (spouse, state, country) put a real CA in their prop.

Can you please take some side by side comparison pictures?

Hey guys, I thought this might be of interest:
http://zospec.com/diarypro/diary.cgi?field=22

A part-by-part breakdown of the new Takagi blaster. For those who can't read Japanese, he's basically saying "This is great... this is perfect... I love how this has been fully replicated..." You get the idea!

Seeing that blog was the tipping point for me. I wasn't able to get one here in Tokyo, but I managed to sweet-talk a vendor in another part of the country into holding one for me 'til payday. This'll be my first blaster... I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas over here!

By the way, a word on Japanese model gun legislation since there seems to be some confusion: cap firing model guns in Japan aren't allowed to have a metal outer barrel/frame, unless it's gold-colored. Black and silver are not allowed. However, the plastic used contains a powdered metal (I think it's steel) for added weight, and a better sheen when polished. The barrel will have a flat bar in it that's visible from the front. I believe this is required by law to be visible, but that's one point I'm not 100% on. Essentially you shouldn't be able to rob a convenience store with it; it should be clear at a glance that it's not real. Where a firing pin is employed, it must be plastic, and housed in a disassembly-proof frame so that it can't be replaced with a metal version. For automatics, the chamber should feature a rod in the barrel poking back towards the magazine, which eliminates the possibility of loading a real bullet. (Cap firing rounds have a hole in the nose, so they fit onto that rod.) Metal parts such as the trigger assembly, etc. must be made of pot metal - nothing over a particular hardness. No steel or aluminium. This was all explained to me by a very helpful shop owner. Hope that info comes in handy!

Thanks great info!!

Re: Kokkado | Rakuten Global Market: エルフィンナイツ M2019 blaster Takagi type Blade Runner

I ran the page through Google translator. Uh, yeah. That worked like crap. I got a few words that made sense but mostly it read like various words that made no sense strung together. Nice job Google! The disassembled pictures were very cool. Seeing how things are built is just fascinating, especially these blasters. Are these parts cnc'd, or cast? Or cast then cleaned up with a CNC? Mine should be delivered here today. Fingers crossed!

This blaster does look amazing. Fit and finish look top notch.

Re: Kokkado | Rakuten Global Market: エルフィンナイツ M2019 blaster Takagi type Blade Runner

OK..now I really want one of these!! After the kit comes hopefully, I will have the cash saved up for this one!!

Re: Kokkado | Rakuten Global Market: エルフィンナイツ M2019 blaster Takagi type Blade Runner

I keep seeing clear grips. I want a pair of clear grips so fraking bad. I have a kit set aside for nickle plating and the works. but have no clue how I'm going to obtain the grip's.

EErrrrr.

Sorry had to rant. that gun looks awesome..

Dear sir, you can't put nickel plating on Zinc.

PS...if you're willing to figure it out I'm sure folks would pay...especially if it were ALL metal minus the parts that should be plastic...if you come up with the numbers I bet you'd get enough interest to spin off 100 for sure!!! Tomenosuke gets $1,000.00 , Coyle gets $1,500.00+, I usually make $1,000.00 on mine...seems like the going avg is about a grand!? If you could find a way to do it and make cash at that price...it might be fun...

Averaging a grand?, in the US perhaps. Here in the UK you can double that, then add high postage and import duty, then risk having it seized by customs and losing the lot.

I've never seen a prop blaster in person. What are the Tomensuke guns made from? It has to be aluminum, right? When it comes to making CNC parts, the really hard part of it is the tooling. Cutting the part once it's setup and dialed in is easy. Making 1 part or 100 it's pretty much the same thing except for machine time.

The Tomenoske is mostly made from Zinc.

You can keep your nad Dude. I only take paypal. Not paynad! How many blaster geeks are on this forum?

Would you accept paykidney?. What is it about this Blaster?.

Re: Kokkado | Rakuten Global Market: エルフィンナイツ M2019 blaster Takagi type Blade Runner

Grips are not incorrectly angled at all. I just received the Takagi and made comparations with pics from Worldcon and PIH auction. Correct angle.

There are other minor inaccuracies, I'm doing a close analysis now. But grip angle is not one of them. As a matter of fact I think this is more accurate than any Tomenosuke yet.

Really?, more accurate than the Retailors edition?. That would be an incredible achievement on their first try.

Takagi has been studying and building Blade Runner blasters since 1985. An incredible achievement, yes.

This is such a surprise to me. I have been mesmerised by this Prop for over two years, yet only heard of Takagi three days ago. I'm so glad I did. Having had my order canceled by Cinemaquette on the Retailors, I thought I would never again have the opportunity to own a top flight blaster. I have, this very morning bought a Takagi blaster from Japan. With postage and duty it cost me the same as a decent car. I know so little about it that, along with the possibility of customs seizing (stealing) it, I feel I have taken a huge risk.

Mine arrived after a week in customs in Chicago. Tomenosuke arrived a few weeks back. It was like Christmas morning for a BR fan. Both are wonderful!

Wow!, you're so lucky to own the pair. To my huge surprise, I prefer the Takagi, particularly the grips. May I ask, if you could only keep one, which would it be?.

Re: Kokkado | Rakuten Global Market: エルフィンナイツ M2019 blaster Takagi type Blade Runner

I'd have to say Tomenosuke for all metal receiver and other parts but I like the look of the Takagi more.

Also noticed that cycling the chamber on the Takagi is smoother than on the Tomenosuke. It just seems theres a a bit more play on the Tomen, you can see the laser point being displaced a few mm as each round cycles. No side movement on the Takagi. Plan to try to tighten up the Tomen soon.

But like all fans on here, I like to gather the different models as curios so none will be left go. Have a black rubber 'stunt' Tomenosuke and a modded Offworld already (see pic below with the Tomenosuke) and now waiting on a Daiki Kogyo... #blasteraddiction

Where are you from?

Regarding Tagaki, he was the first to discover that the blaster was made using Steyr and Bulldog parts, and that was in 1993. His Deckard blaster in Hobby Japan EX 1993 is still one of my favorite recreations. You can hardly believe how could it be so accurate with the little info available at that time.

I only just found out that the receiver on the Takagi is plastic, I feel a little deflated. Is it obviously plastic?.

Blighty. Thanks for the heads up on Takagi, so much more research to indulge myself in. If I could, I would only collect blasters, but due to the UK's ludicrous gun laws, it risky to run the gauntlet with customs. It's a relief to find that I'm not the only one with a this very strange, and very niche addiction.
