Klingon Disruptor from Diamond Select Toys in 2011

Today, Diamond Select Toys released a new Star Trek Q&A on the Art Asylum blog. The Star Trek II communicator came up, and I think you'll be pleased that they said "The TWO (sic) communicator is still on schedule for 2010, we’re hoping to have a good sense or timing when the factory returns from their New Year’s break."

Someone again asks about the prospects of a Star Trek III phaser. They respond that "it is something we have considered but at this point I’d guess 2011 at the soonest." They confirm that they've shown everything that is planned for 2010.*

*which in DST-years probably may extend into 2011-12 as well.

I guess I am in the minority because I like the new disruptor. I already have a MR TOS.

I am with you, can never have too much Klingon stuff. What makes this better for me is it isn't TOS. Both of these items appear in the 24th century Trek period.

DST Geological Tricorder and TWOK communicator are both on track to be released this year. A Q&A on the DST site states they are and you can now find pictures of the prototype on almost all toy sites. The Geo Tricorder WILL NOT have a scanner contrary to site descriptions. TWOK communicator will have a sound bite of Kirk yelling, "KHAAAANN".

past the TWOK communicator nothing has yet to be released on the new ships or the klingon disruptor. I have sent a few emails asking about the status of the disruptor, waiting to hear back.

Wow, this totally flew under my radar, I hadn't heard about this, so thanks for bumping the thread.

That is a pretty crazy delay, but I have grown quite used to it for Trek props these last three or four years.

Does DTS have the rights to do TNG stuff. If so. I really wish they would do a TNG Tricorder. Those would fly off the shelves if they were accurately shapped and had good upgrade potential.

I was wondering if the EFX license would preclude other toy companies from making it? I know they have other TNG items down the pike.

The efx licence is diffrent from the DST licence. One is licenced to make toy replicas the other high end prop replicas. It is a fine grey line but thankfully it is there so we can have both our cake and eat it too. and yes DST has a tng, ds9, voy, tos, ent licence. The Ent may need updating but they have a broad trek tech clause. So the window is open till they decide to close it. if that helps.

"shipping in 2010"? :lol

Well here it is 2013... and it looks like we're finally getting something. :rolleyes

Even a Trek 3 exclusive! :D

Here's a photo of what seems to be the final STIII version. Paint looks a bit different/better than on the prototype:

Looks like they painted the curved part of the rods silver. It makes a huge difference.
