Klingon Disruptor from Diamond Select Toys in 2011

It looks like Diamond Select Toys has revealed their next Trek Tek prop. I just found this link to a photo of the Klingon disruptor shown at Toy Fair today. While not my first choice, the quality looks to be as solid as previous DST items. The prototype is accompanied by a refreshingly realistic placard that reads "In stores 2011."

Still pulling for a Star Trek III phaser though (and communicator, and cool pop-up tricorder).

"Shipping a few months after our final delayed deadline." :lol

Ah, they all are fantastic when they finally do come out, so I say take all the time you need... better good than on time. ;)

Not a huge fan of the Klingons, but that looks to be a nice piece. Looking forward to DST getting back on track with the Federation tech. :)

But hey, a 16-inch "Starship Legends" Klingon Battle Cruiser from TOS would be OK if, you know, they sort of wanted to drop one. :rolleyes

Well at least the BOP has got landing gear. We haven't seen that before. :lol

Not a fan of the BOP but we all know I'll buy one anyway... I wonder how accurate to Star Trek III it will be. That ship has been so inconsistently shown over the years it's not funny...

They got the Enterprise-B and Excelsior in the works too. But we knew that. :)

It means "This is not a camera". :) :confused

I'll buy one when it comes out... but I won't be holding my breath on the 2011 release date. ;)

I'm not a fan of the Klingon disruptor, either. I'll buy one, but I won't be anticipating it. The price looks a bit high, too. Especially since it's not a "two for one" like the Federations phasers that have the removable P1's. Maybe we'll get a Klingon comm out of this as well or a "P1" as seen in The Voyage Home.

I do, however, like that BOP. Having the landing gear is a nice touch, too. I hope the wings are able to move up and down as well.

I guess that must be an Excelsior that they put 1701-B decals on for the show. They will probably know the difference, they're pretty sharp over there. ;)

EDIT: Hey wait you're right, they got the extra outboard impulse engine decks right, but the warp nacelles are the same. It's some kind of Enter-Celsior mashup. :confused

THIS is the prop they get into TNG with?!?

Ho hum. I'm sure it'll be cool, but I have ZERO interest in a non-TOS Klingon disrupter.

I'd rather see them complete the Star Fleet motion picture-era with the TMP and TWOK communicators before making this odd leap into alien role play.

I'm betting the plugged Excelsior nacelles onto an Enterprise-B hull. As I recall, the old Enterprise-A had removable nacelles for shipping and I'm betting this ship is the same. So maybe proper nacelles are in the works?

Thing is the rear of the nacelles have the correct Enterprise-B vertical fins, where as the Excelsior does not have them. :unsure

I prefer the clean excelsior look. I didn't like the bits they added for the B

Agreed re the outboard impulse engines, but the Bussard collectors are more interesting on the B. So they managed to include the least attractive features of both craft for this prototype. :unsure
