Actually, your screw placement on the right side is incorrect. They need to be lower. Below the rail.No we didn't just removed the sight on the end, everything else stayed even the orange end, we drilled out the resin barrel attachment, all the way then slipped in the aluminum tube, I did put a smaller tube inside of the main tube that fit nicely into the airsoft barrel, needs to be a little loose so the airsoft barrel can move back in forth, it has a slight movement when you fire it. Hope that made sense.. Here is an end picture. When you drill and tap the frame of the Airsoft you need to field strip it, comes apart really easy, there are a few videos out there, but I think the instructions tell you how to do it. the right side of the frame, you will be tapping right into the rail where the slide rides, so the screws will be super short in order for the gun to run smooth. But since she's not jumping out of Space ships it will hold up just fine. One more thing if your not shooting BBs through it, (We are not) you can glue down the spring slide in the Magazine, so the gun doesn't recognize that it is out of ammo and lock open it will always close.

Trust me, I've been through the whole build.
I do like your little pipe upgrade, though! This way, you can drill out the side holes for hero prop accuracy! Actually, now that I think about it, the tube would need to be much larger in diameter for what I'm thinking. It'd need to butt up right to the inside of the barrel attachment.
All that said, very nicely done! As long as y'all enjoy it and had a great time building it, that's what really matters. And it looks nice, too!
Edit: no need to glue the follower. Just fold up a piece of paper or tape until it holds the follower well enough and far enough down to cycle the action properly. Some airsoft guns even include a little insert specifically for this, to hold the follower down so the piece can be dry fired.
Now all y'all need to do is file away the rear sides, remove that safety and give it a bit of a beating!
