great Delta!

As for the shirt, as I mentioned before, people from Dragon Leatherworks say that they recognize their leather belt but with a different buckle. We now know that is an Orvis. So the same may happen with the shirt.
I think they replaced the buttons for the same reason they painted black the Casio buckle; to avoid reflection.

The more and more I've seen the film, the more I've honed in on Grady's boots considering they're the hardest to ID. Obviously, based on augofett's compiled list (thanks for that!) we've collectively done a pretty good job tracking most of this stuff down. But the boots continue to be elusive.

There are so many styles of boots similar to his that without some kind of definite positive ID'ing from the production we'll likely never know. I've tried to reach back out to the costume designer but he's hit or miss when it comes to responding. He only described them as "rough out boots" which is just a general term for a few different styles of boots and not necessarily any that look like Grady's.

All that said, in certain pictures and from certain angles, Grady's kind of have the vibe of a classic Justin Roper with a toe that's a little more pointy than the classic round Chelsea toe. Normally cowboy boots have a flat sole but they do make some workboot styles of Ropers with the type of sole we've seen on Grady's boots. I know they are not and it's agreed upon that they are more of a Chelsea pull on style, as seen by the elastic on the side which is a telling detail. But I've tried to expand my search to other types of boots just in case.

Any more thoughts?

ok well i personally think they are the Timberland earthkeepers stormbucks, stitching on the side around the elastic bit is exactly the same. regarding the undersole not showing timberland (from a previous post), i can't imagine it's difficult to paint them black or pick them out or dare i say it they got a different sole and glued it on to the shoe......like they did with his star lord boots lol. but yeah i'm purchasing the stormbucks :D

Great find on the Orvis shirt! I always thought the orange stitching was a strange choice for the costume designer - it felt more like something a company would do. So do we think that this is definitely the shirt, but that an actual Orvis shirt was never seen on screen - and that they just replicated it for the film?

In regards to the Homespun henley, the little semi-cirlce is definitely part of the shirt. The styleforum link I posted back on page 2 shows the correct henley:

ahh there you go! so if anyone can find me one i'll pay a decent amount for it lol :D

you mean the treads?

ignore that i know what you mean, also looking at the costume display pics again, you can just about make out that there is stitching from the middle of the elastic side bit to the sole it doesn't look the same colour stitching as the rest of the boot either. i have a bad feeling about this, i reckon they have customised the timberlands so they are unique, you know what costume designers are like they want to be unique so people can't just replicate it. unless the designer has given us a bum-steer by saying they were timberlands when in fact they're not :confused

But didn't Lowery not have a badge? I rewatched to try and see what his looked like and could not see one anywhere. Which for me brought up an interesting subject around Lowery regarding him and his position/place at the park. We don't know how long he has worked there in the 8-10 years it has been open. But even if it has been since day one, why is it he gets to go around without a badge and nobody cares - especially the security officer that Hoskins immediately shows his InGen badge to when he enters and who also makes a fuss when Owen enters without a badge (and if he has one wouldn't it be an InGen badge as well?). Mr. Masrani comes in without a badge but I believe for him it is self-explanatory why he doesn't need one. Plus Lowery is the one who stays behind and has all access to the park, i.e. he knows all passwords to open the animal paddocks.

Lowery in theory has a badge, just as all the control room people who work there have one and would need one to gain access to the control room. You can see Vivian's in the photo below. That said, no you never see Lowery's badge. Perhaps he wears it clipped to his jean's pocket and his shirt covers it up or keeps it elsewhere. That's what I've always done when I've had to wear a badge. And Grady would likely not have one. I mentioned the badges because people in the thread were discussing what they could add to their costumes to make them more recognizable for cons.

Yep, when ID'ing the boots, the tread is the main thing that you want to look at. I too thought they were the Stormbucks at first and, while they're a nice alt, they're not a SA match. Besides the front tread pattern being different, the sole of Grady's boots have only one plus on the heel while the Stormbucks (along with most boots I've looked at in this search) have two). I'm still thinking they're some model of Timberland (after all, in the first JP, everyone wore Timberlands!) or another very popular outdoorsman brand of boot...we just haven't found them yet.

Called Orvis Customer Service (who are super helpful and friendly BTW). They did a search not only in their warehouse but at every Orvis store across the country and there are no smalls to be found anywhere. And there was no information if or when they would restock them in that color (which means they probably won't).

Before that, I called my local Orvis store and the guy I spoke with had been with the company for a long time. He mentioned that the Open Air is one of their staple shirts they make every year in standard colors (red, white and the light blue), though every season they do a few special colors. The grey is the special color for this year. I did end up purchasing a medium just because I'd rather have one and have it taken in than not have one at all!

Anyway, just thought I'd pass this info along!

Working on upgrading some pieces so I'm probably going to let my Jafrum vest in a large, stand in shirt and belt go. Pants I'm keeping because they're comfortable. If anyone is looking for close enoughs- let me know.

FYI: That tread pattern is probably one of the most common treads used by big shoe factories. It's literally used on hundreds of styles ranging from the budge shoe shops all way to big name brand boot makers...

Do you guys know when you're going to have your version of the vest available and it's appox. price?

We're doing the pattern work now. Should have pricing confirmed shortly. You can order anytime, but we won't have it added to the site until late July or early August, most likely.

For anyone interested in the Old Navy pants, I went to yet another location today, and tried on a total of 12 pairs. I had to do this, because I realized as I was going through them there are 4 different kinds all mixed together. There's two pairs that button like regular cargo pants, and two pairs that button like dress pants with an eye hook. Within those variations, there were also two color shades available. With the final pair I tried on I found a size that worked, because some of the combinations have VERY slim fitted legs.

I ended up getting the pair on the left, which were a bit more loose in the legs and had a better fit in the waist. I kind of liked the color better on the right pair; however they once again didn't have my size in those.

What do you think?
Eastland Daily Double Brown Chelsea Boot.
The display boots don´t seem to have the vibram style threaded soles.

Regarding the pants, another identifier would be the over stitching on the back pockets. I know I've seen pants like this before, just escapes my mind at the moment:

The more I look at the display boots the more it looks like a more suede material, could just be my eyes after looking at a million different boots last few days :wacko. However the display boots and the on screen boots he wore with the treads showing are different, as you mention the displays don't have the vibram style treads, so I reckon he had 2 types.

Hopefully it comes back to you! Be interesting to put another name in the pool to look in to.
