Which one is that?I was really hoping we’d finally see the ‘lost’ rhinestone tricorder and phaser show up
Nice comm man, I love the hero's.
Well, that's the story of a prop maker's life (and set decorator's, for that matter).Agreed. Amazing how much work Wah and the Desilu prop shop put into the original “Landing Party” Hero Comms, Phasers, and Tricorders…unprecedented for the time and they received amazing little to no screen time.
Interesting, selling off the helm / navigator console, I guess the Paul Allen foundation / museum is selling off their Trek stuff.
I've always considered Justman's comment to be about the Laser Pistols from The Cage, NOT the B&W phasers. His mentioning how they were plain and unimaginative not only better describes the lasers, but if he really thought the B&W phasers were unimaginative, it's a pretty big dig at Matt Jefferies, since the actual phasers pretty much match what he designed.

The back of the communicator would usually be covered with velcro, but that one shows no sign of it ever being there.
I thought I read those numbers were done post TOS by a random prop house that ended up with the props.
