Re: FOAM speed building files'n'tricks ►Multi-Hero cowl◄ added.

Im itching to have a go at the space marine suit not sure if 6mm foam will be strong enough for it though. Thanks Jfcustoms for the feed back ill keep practicing and get them as tidy as I can I have two different coloured foams one green one yellow and the green mat is so much firmer than the yellow but they come from the same company and same thickness

Re: FOAM speed building files'n'tricks ►Multi-Hero cowl◄ added.

I have a stack about 18 inches tall of 6mm at my house that I need to start dicing up. I was thinking of scratch building either the Mark 5 or Mark 42.

Re: FOAM speed building files'n'tricks ►Multi-Hero cowl◄ added.

So with the Loki helmet do I flip the pattern for the other horn?

Re: FOAM speed building files'n'tricks ►Multi-Hero cowl◄ added.

no there should be two wings for the thor helmet on the thor templates doesn't matter which way you cut them because your foam will be plain both sides

whiteraven, Billymaya, Durkness, and every others : Great Work guys, it's nice to get some feedback, and I'm really pleased to see you all have fun with foam :p

I also ended up finishing a suit two days ago, using (obviously) my own templates from robo3687's excellent model. Now I'm getting used with the material, this one is probably one of my cleanest, and so theorically the next one will turn out even better :

I sometimes happen to fall quite disapointed seeing these speed-foam templates often considered as a lazy way out that provides some partial and simplistic suits. We may mistakenly be likely to tend to use them only on the rush and against our will. I've already been asked few times for some real or full foam unfolds... So as a reminder : carving a detail on a single piece of foam, or adding an edge through an inner V-cut, is ten times faster and cleaner than building it from multiple small pieces. That makes the overall build faster, yes, but does not dispense in any way with being patient, working tidily, and constantly keeping a carefull eye at the original model.

Terrific :lol Epic concept, I like it !:love I'm a big fan of kid-sized suits !

This one for example still fuels my thoughts and overloads my brain with ideas :

Heya JF. I'm plowing along on the Classic Iron Man build. Thank you. If you would like me to post pics /WIP on here to show the design let me know. I don't want to clutter up your thread. Thanks again. It looks awesome. :)

Re: FOAM speed building files'n'tricks ►Multi-Hero cowl◄ added.

Hello JF.

I was wondering if there was a possibility of the armored suits for the main characters of the animated series 'Tiger&Bunny' could be added in a foam unfold? I'm trying to get two suits done by the end of august. The suits for wild tiger and Barnaby brooks specifically.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: FOAM speed building files'n'tricks ►Multi-Hero cowl◄ added.

This is amazing! Thank you for compiling this, when I work up the nerve to do a IM suit i'll definitely be sitting on this page.

Re: FOAM speed building files'n'tricks ►Multi-Hero cowl◄ added.

This is great stuff JF, convinced me to switch to foam you have.

Seeing as I live in Canada and not in France, does anyone know of a good alternative to obtain a similar foam and cost for the builds?

Re: FOAM speed building files'n'tricks ►Multi-Hero cowl◄ added.

Question, with the Thor pepakura how big around the waist and chest is it? And..... I have no idea how to change it. Heeeeelp.

Re: FOAM speed building files'n'tricks ►Multi-Hero cowl◄ added.

FYI I discovered while building Thor that the templates are for the MOVIE Thor, not Avengers. Thus far all I've done is make the Avengers vambracers freehand.
