Jareth -Labyrinth -Bust WIP

I read online that three different ones were used. Guess ill have to see which costume I go with. I really like that brass colored one best. Thanks a lot for those pics.

Nice.

As you can see in the picture of him in costume, then the eyebrows are just his regular eyebrows with make-up on them giving it that odd shape. The white extends up over part of his eyebrow with the "black" angling up at the break where the eyebrow naturally swoops down. He did not wear fake eyebrows giving them that shape. It's all make-up. So doing it this way is what is throwing things off.

In fact... they just painted the first parts of the eyebrows dark or left them as is... and then used the white make-up to cover the angling down part at his temples. There's basically very little extending upwards.

Thanks TMG I was waiting fir your input. You have a great eye for this stuff. I realized looking at reference pics that the eyebrows were painted up and blended out. I thought it looked weird painted in so I put the eyebrows in the way they are in the artwork by Froud giving Jareth upturned eyebrows. Think I should go with painted in eyebrows? I can always go with real hair eyebrows and try it that way.

LOL... oh yeah... couldn't stay away. You have some interesting projects.

If you get real hair eyebrows you need to trim them down and into correct shape, as the eyebrows can sell or kill a piece. You can get a generic bust with David Bowie's face or you can get DAVID BOWIE. If you follow. Then try to do the make-up as if done for real... just giving it that hint of an upwards angle.

I'm still more inclined towards sculpted eyebrows, especially when you have to have make-up over it. It may not look exactly real if painted over hair eyebrows. Your call.

The change to the pupils really gave it a punch upwards and I must say, the eyes you sculpted on this one came out pretty damn good in the first go. :thumbsup

Loving this. I didn't say anything after seeing the first pics. Really didn't think that lifecast would turn out the way you wanted, but man... you are getting CLOSE to really bringing this character to life! I agree about the eybrows. I think that will help having "normal" eybrows accentuated with makeup instead of shaping the eybrows with the makeup lines.

I never knew there were 3 necklaces. I really dig the chrome one! I had seen the screenused "baby" owned one. And guess I thought they were all similar?

P.S. You remind me of the babe...

:p

heres a pic with the hair placed, not styled yet, and took pics with dig camerea instead of phone. Need to trim the bangs and style it a bit.

I m thinking of doing the bust with no shoulders, just collar and chest down to where the necklace ends and have his hand comming up holding the crystal ball...what do you think?

Just started on the necklace, took a little break from the bust. Really wanted to start on this. Not a ton of reference though. I cut it out of foam, sanded it then added a layer of epoxy clay. Needs a lot of work still. Just wondering about the size of it. I estimated the size based off the real prop using the hand as a reference. Thanks

About the necklace, If you make it good enough, Im sure people would love to by a casting of it.:thumbsup

Thanks Contec....ill try my best but without measurements it can't be exact. Ill get it as close as I can though.

when you finish this will you do things like sneak him into the room that guests are staying in the middle of the night and then wait for the screams???

He's looking so good!

I have the SDCC Jareth necklace that was limited to 500. How accurate is that? I can post pics if needed.

Edit: I did a little checking and looks to be about 3rd the size. But I can still post pics.

Thanks Arwen...really apreciate it. Amish would love any pics you can of it. If it is 1/3 scale can you send pics and put a ruler next to it if you can? Really unsure of the thickness too.

A little more work on the pendant. The center pice is proving really difficult. Im going to do the brass colored one. Seems to be the biggest and thickest one, the chrome ones are a little thin for my liking and chrome is always hard to paint. The brass one pictured above is also the one that is worn when Bowie does the Mc Escher scene with all those steps. Gonna do the black outfit too as in the scene. Also got my crystal (acrylic) ball today too.
