I recently finished this for a client. He had bought a metal version of the Japor Shippet from TPM. And he wanted a paint job sp that it looked like the one used onscreen.

Here is what I came up with. Cleaned and primed it. Painted it flat white (form a rattle can). And handpainted the rest with a brush. Used several ivory and beige colors. Gave it a few washes with some darker brownish colors. Painted the symbolls with a watered down chocolate brown color. Gave the bototm of the symbols just a hint of a black wash. It was a nice little project. Something that is a little different from what I useually paint.

This is what it looks like today.

Yes the result was awesome :)

that looks sharp. are you going to do a run?

Well, no.

This was a metal version bought by the client. Which have been painted.
I have not taken a cast of it to paint, nor will I EVER reacst such an item.
But if you got one that you would like to have painted like this one please PM me :D

Sometimes it is necessary to read all of the 1st post before posting ;)

I'm trying to find one or two of these in time for Celebration V in August. There were was this really good one on ebay a couple of years ago:

But now the ones currently on ebay don't look as good as this one, IMO.

What are the measurements for this? I'd like to try my hand at making one and want to make sure I get the proportions right.

I've also wanted to make one of these and have thought about using super sculpey. It would be a neat little prop to have. I also don't know about what size to make it.

I don't have any on hand to measure right now, but here's a picture of the very first one I made years ago (out of Super Sculpey) next to a quarter for scale.

In some of the pictures I've seen, the pendant looks like it has kind of a stipey texture on the surface. Is this the case or is it completely smooth? I'm planning to make one from sculpey, but make a resin cast afterward. I always thought that it was taller than it was wide, but from that picture, it looks like the basic shape is almost square. Feel free to keep posting pictures of your own, as well as reference pics! I appreciate any help.

It's supposed to be smooth, being carved out of "ivory wood" according to the lore. The prop itself is visibly smooth as well. My replicas are just slightly taller than they are wide. I tried to match the proportions as closely as I could.

You'll notice as well that it has a leather cord in TPM and a metal chain in ROTS.
