Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! V2 files coming soon!

Re: Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! Check out page 66!

Did anyone already thought about hinges for the jaw piece ? I'm sitting here with the jaw on one hand and the rest of the helmet in the other, wondering if I should just glue them permanently or try something. I thought about using drawer sliding hinges, so it slides forward, but it's a bit bulky...

This is what i have so far i fiberglassed almost everything i got ..was wondering for those doing this in fiberglass how much clearance does it have to have to your body(the lower torso)? I know it has to fit tighter than the war machine but mine only has like an inch to inch clearance.. I know i can get some more when i add the spaces in between.

this is looking awesome man!

I used magnets to join parts. In result it's easy to put the the helm on + lovelly sound of joining parts.

I preferred to leave it all together, with the L-shaped brackets for the opening of the helmet and the magnets to keep it open

Well, I've gone ahead and used the Iron Patriot helmet for my War Machine MK Custom armor (mix between Iron Patriot and War Machine Costumes)

Here's the helmet with a base coat of metallic silver

Re: Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! Check out page 66!

I just joined the RPF today but have been lurking and researching for some time. I am going to start work on an Ironman costume for myself and a Iron Patriot for my bother. I have some costuming experience but nothing as far as building with foam or pepakura. My brother is at basic training right now at Fort Benning Ga. The idea of doing something great for him while he is there is keeping my motivation up. Thanks for the posts and info everyone!

New member here as well, wanted to say thanks for your work on this and other projects. This will be my first attempt at foam armor. I am very excited to work on this!

Someone wouldn't happen to have all of the IP armor in a zip folder already would they?... Oh well, time to start downloading....

I do (sorry so late, working) but it's all 393.5 scaled. Let me know if I should pay it forward.

laellee...how's it coming with the scaling? did you fix lower torso? or made it bigger?

Re: Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! Check out page 66!

Don, I kept it all the same. After fiberglass (two layers) I could still squeeze in. Keep in mind, I did this the first time back around Christmas :) I resin-coated my entire lower body (abs, cod, thigh and shin) ALL as one piece, each leg whole for the first pass, then broke it all apart. Honestly (how crazy is this?) I wanted to actually do my first resin coat wearing all the pieces I could so I could be sure there'd be minimal distortion. Bad idea, by the way. Girlfriend was afraid of the resin (so no help), and I also realized that somehow I could be making myself an inflexible body cast on accident :)

Just saw the show Friday. Liked it, however i did'nt think it showed enough of the patriot and all the goodies that come with. My build is coming along. I Have 80% of the arms done no pics yet, working on the hands right now. But i did come up with a sketch of how i think i want my upper torso to look like. I also thought i would change the hemet as well, no sketch on that just yet. Click the link below and tell what you think please be honest with the critism. Thanx folks...GM

Yep, throw your Mac down a well and buy a PC. Oh wait, I mean, there is software out there to make your mac emulate a PC, but I've always heard back that it's a pain in the rear and not worth the hassle.

So I say make more friends. Preferably somebody with a PC. Even if we get your scale (unlikely), PDF it and get it so you can print on your g4 (at least hopefully) , if it's still wrong we get to start over. Your best hope is finding someone here with your build that made the suit work.
Good luck!

Is there any kind soul who can email me the foam templates as PDFs or something I can print from Windows without downloading pepakura viewer? My home computer is broken, and I can't download this kind of thing at work without catching heck. If you can, my email is cayman_shen@hotmail.com, and you're my hero :)
