Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! V2 files coming soon!

Hey guys, we recently completed the patriot using x-robots plastic coating method. Full gallery is on our new thread

Duo Iron Patriot and Ironman Pep Build

Thanks to everyone who provide such good information to work with. We didn't use Jackies files for the whole thing as they weren't available when we started, we did use some parts however. How did we do for our first builds? Loving all the work guys!

That is some great pep work. Incredible job guys.

Heres my first attempt at working with foam. (would really appreciate feedback and tips)
*I didn't put the top part of the eyes so my son would have better visibility.
It is a lot quicker than working with fiberglass, but I just dont get the "cutting" & "angles".
I had to "guesstimate" at how a few parts would attach to others. I guess I'll get the hang of things eventually.

I tried coating with a few layers of PVA, but I'm not really impressed with the results. I'll try the plastic coating next time.

What scale would a 6'0" person use. thanks for the help guys. Anyone? Looking at the other scales I am having a hard time figuring it out.

Just saw the show Friday. Liked it, however i did'nt think it showed enough of the patriot and all the goodies that come with. My build is coming along. I Have 80% of the arms done no pics yet, working on the hands right now. But i did come up with a sketch of how i think i want my upper torso to look like. I also thought i would change the hemet as well, no sketch on that just yet. Click the link below and tell what you think please be honest with the critism. Thanx folks...GM

I agree i was really looking forward to seeing some War Machine action but sadly, didnt happen :( But your build is looking pretty good :)

Just about everything :unsure A lot of the stuff i have to fix is minor (small changes on the shin, cod, bicep, foot flaps, neck, back of the abs, helmet) but others need major changes (upper torso, thigh, forearm, boot, elbow.) I think the only one that might be 100% complete is the shoulder, but ill still go over that just in case :) However when the V2 files are done, they will be as accurate as can be :D

EXCELLENT. Do you think there is much hope of grafting on some of the changes to a V1 base, or would it be in the long run easier to just repep most of the update pieces? I was going to just add on the ducts on my torso over your v1, but I wasn't sure how severe the geometry was going to be changing on other parts and sections.

I was thinking about that and im not sure what would be easier. I think for some parts (shin, forearm, thigh, bicep, foot flaps, neck, helmet) would be fine just adding the details in to the V1 files but for the upper and lower torso it might be more difficult to do that than just start over. But im 90% sure ill just use the V1 and make the changes to them (except the elbow. That is (A.) pretty inaccurate and (B.) not too hard of a piece to restart on :))

Thanks, Kev. I guess it's a win-win either way, either less pepping, or I'll end up with some extra parts to start a Murdoch-style hybrid with :lol

After reading this whole thing and starting my first foam build by doing a couple pieces in foam and then getting to the end of the thread realizing that i may have to redo everything makes me both sad and happy at the same time. I just finished my lower torso last night too :'( Ah well I guess Ill put off the rest of the build until the V2 files are done. I dont want to waste any more foam. Im gonna buy another roll of foam and try not to touch it while i impatiently wait. ^_^ I guess I can call the V1 parts practice? lol

just finished my cannon...the v2 just to let you all know makesure you invert it because i think its flipped around...

Beautifully done.. I look at the file, see if there is an inversion problem (I posted in your other thread as well). Just looking at the barrel section makes my fingers hurt.

I held out as much as I could. I think it's safe to make this now. Heh.

Thanks for the files Jackie! I love you man.

Don Juan- It looks awesome! Great job!
