Its that time of the year!!!

Wikus from District 9.

Great Costume, but you look more like Matt Damon from "The Informant"

I heard that from a co-worker, too :lol

I guess Wikus just doesn't smile a lot. That, and the glasses. :)

Me on my way out to a friend's costume party Friday night in my nowhere-near-screen-accurate Captain Teague costume:

Not that I expected different, but I heard, "Oh, Captain Jack!" far too many times. :unsure

I'm not using it this year, but I figure I might as well post my Borg costume from 2004. (Most of these photos were taken in a neighbor's garage.)

Spirit was fun, but Trek was a welcome (read: comfortable for once) change...

Yup, it was Rubies. Sue me. :)

I'm going as a generic stormtrooper yet again but here are my kids:

The number 1 is Blueberry Muffin, number 2 is a Mint candy (her best friend is going as a Sugar Daddy), and number 3 is B.O.B. from Monsters vs Aliens. I really should have added more foam to even the head and body transition. Oh well, good enough for trick or treating I guess.

Great Job!!! I must admit though, that I originally thought (Captain Morgan)...or maybe I just need a drink:lol

Yeah...I Know, I just needed a drink.

It's the last year for Trick or Treat for my youngest, so I lent him my
Starship Troopers armor and we made a paper mache` alien bug on his back.
There is a little bug on his left shoulder.
The big bug hitching a ride was attached to an old school backpack with the "pack" cut off.
It was easy to wear and the straps blended in with the SST armor.

The "gun" has a flashlight and , for collecting candy, an ammo box made from a 24 pack Coke box covered in duct tape.

He had the only "made" costume in the neighborhood and got some nice compliments.
The people who didn't know Starship Troopers (the movie) had fun guessing what was on his back.
Guesses ranged from an alligator to an alien cannon (?)
I was at work, but my wife and son both commented that a surprising number of kids didn't even dress up.
I feel like if kids are going to canvass the neighborhood for free food,
they owe the candy suppliers something of a show.
All in all, he had a fun night.

We had a fairly quiet evening , even though it was a Saturday night..expected more, but still got quite a few. The local kids mainly dressed in shop bought witches/ghouls sort of thing , but to be honest I couldnt really see most of them due to far fra too smalll eye slits in my scarecrow outfit.

Still , the weather was kind (Im in the U.K.) and we had a good night.

By the end of the evening I was awfull tired, mainly due to lack of oxygen..:lol. I must get that mask sorted :lol

Too many awesome costumes here, and everyone's looks good, but I did have a few comments/questions for folks.

I'm fairly certain "shocking" is not the adjective that should be applied.

Moving right along...

Okay, here's mine. No hints.

NICE!! Excellent attention to detail, too with the vest. And I see you went for "Fistfull" instead of "A Few." I've always been partial to Fistfull, myself. :)

Just wearing the Joker again for Saturday. I have a Zombie costume for a zombie party tomorrow, I'll see if I get pics of it.

Your Joker costume is awesome, but I have got to give props to Travis Bickle there. I love the obscure costumes. Did the dude have a working slide in his sleeve? :)

Well, I won't say I was hiding behind the sofa with that episode, but it was seriously freaky. NICE costume. By the way, was that a Dalek costume or just a prop next to you?

Anyway, here's mine. The guys over at Indygear.com would probably give me crap for not being screen accurate, but I figure it's close enough.

And one other not as good pic that shows the boots.

Side note: to really go all out, I stuck my MP3 player in my jacket pocket. The player has a speaker on it, and I had the Raiders March playing on loop at just-barely audible levels for that extra subliminal effect. :) Oh, and beards are freakin' ITCHY!!! How the hell do you people grow them on a regular basis? I'm shavin' this ******* off this AM.

is that a SQUARE buckle on that gunbelt? :confused

the neighborhood where some of my SCA buddies live is PERFECT for the Shape, looks just like Haddonfield. i finally got to put my Samhain to use, and i kept my cellphone in my pocket to play my Halloween Theme ringtone whenever i approached a group. that was a great touch.
i had a great time stalking the few older trick-or-treaters we got. best group was two girls and a guess their boyfriends. the girls went up to the porch for the candy, the guys being too cool for such things. i crept up behind them, silent as the Shape itself, they turned around froze for a good three seconds. one girl made a run for it when i started toward her friend, who jumped over porch ledge(three feet high MAYBE, don't worry) when i came after her. :lol the BFF Abandoner was HOT too, tall, athletic judgin from her leg, dressed as a gothy witch with a split dress(i know there's a term for it but i dunno it). i then followed them for about three houses, until they turned down the next street.
one of my friends said my mask was "positively terrifying."

i just wish there'd been more teenagers; i don't chase the wee ones cuz i'd feel like an a***ole. one little girl, though, not scared at all. her dad said she lurves Michael, thinks he's, like, her bestest friend. so i signed her candy bag with a sharpie.
icons-heart.gif

another, sort of a cross between a ninja and on angel. beat me(ie. barely touched) with her plastic knife and i fell over dead until her daddy told her to say "hocus pocus you're alive," then i sat straight up like Franenstein, turned my head towards her, and gave her some more candy. adorable.
it was great a few times being a "lawn decoration" and then turning suddenly when they were about a foot away.

We drove around town with a backseat full of airsoft guns and fake ammo, occasionally pulling over to chase the odd zombie.
