Hello everyone. Thought I would share our recent activities. My wife sort of dropped a bomb on me last week and said, "I think a Star Wars Halloween Party is in order this year." Of course I immediately jumped into action.
We tend to get a little nuts around here at Halloween. Its pretty much my wife and I's favorite holiday, and our theme parties get pretty out of control. The last couple years we have had 50 - 60 guests, for our little house thats pretty full. We usually build a bunch of props, and try and transform the house into a movie set. The building process typically starts in August. I was under the impression we were not doing anything this year . . . apparently I was wrong. So here we go!
This year we figured we would do things a little different. The plan is to set up the house as if we are filming an actual Star Wars Movie. So we are going to build a lot of partial sets and props, mixed in with a variety of "green screens" around the house. Then during the actual party I am going to fire up several cameras, film a bunch of stuff, and then after the party I plan on editing all the shots and creating some kind of goofy movie from the nights activities. I have some pretty ridiculous friends, so I imagine I'll have plenty of footage . . . just can't guarantee it will be good footage
at any rate, i'll be able to provide all the guests with a copy of the film later on.
So, why would any of you care? Well I can't be sure you actually will, but I thought I would share several aspects of the build and hope you get a kick out of them. We are trying to make sure all the items we are working on can be used in the basement once Halloween is over . . . we'll see. So here we go . . .
Prop and Item List: I have no idea if I will be able to accomplish all of this or not, but we'll give it a shot. (remember, we are setting up this as a "film Set" which will allow us to not completely finish all the items on the list, perhaps just enough for it to be filmed from one angle.
So here is what we have so far . . .
My wife wants to be a Twi'lek Smuggler. So I finally had a chance to use the horrible mold of my DL-44 that I tried last year. It was my first mold and I didn't finish it too well, but hey it works for a custom Smuggler Blaster! My wife is making the holster and belt, and so far it looks pretty sweet. We also needed some Droid Callers too right? So I put a couple of those together. (thanks to azheat01 I stole the idea from him on his 1:1 Jawa build which is awesome!)
Droid Callers . . . just fun stuff.
Next I did a bunch of work on some of the droid domes I have been meaning to get to. I figure these will look cool being worked on by the Jawa's in the market, as well as the new GNK-D2 on display
oh, and on another note, this is a secret project i have going on. We bought a Razor last year, and I just can't help myself. My wife calls it Milly . . . I call it M1-LY and I WILL be adding this bad boy to it . . . but thats another project for another thread.
(Sneak Peak:lol)
and the new GONK . . .
Thats all I have right now, more to come very soon!

- Falcon Hold Bench - We have a space in the basement where we are building a bar/lounge area, and I would like a Falcon Bench with the Dejarik table so i'll be able to put it down there.
- Sci-Fi Style Cantina Bar - This won't be an exact replica of the Mos Esley Cantina, but more of an Industrial style bar with Sci-Fi elements. (my wife only has so much tolerance for my Star Wars obsession
- Jawa Droid Market - Planning on making a Tatooine "Jawa Market" where we will have all the food and beverages. Going to have a couple of Jawas, bunch of droids and droid parts all mixed in. You know, get your droid fixed while you snack on Bantha Legs and drink Jawa Juice."
- . . . and what ever else I can find time to put together:wacko
