You could of started out with a block of bondo and still would of came out with the same awesome helmet..lol..my friend you have talent...this is the best helmet I've seen so far

Today I finished the cheek details...

First I cut the cheek piece from an illustration board...

I then put bondo to make the step...

I temporary attached the cheek pieces to the helm...

Engrave the detail lines...

And Presto!!!... helmet complete :thumbsup

It is now ready for the first coat of primer so I can easily see the pinholes and areas that needed fixing...

I will spray paint it early tomorrow morning...

Thanks... It's a bit bigger than my MKVI helm (which snug fits a 22.5" head) so this could probably accomodate up to 23" head size... the difference :confused... too many :confused

So I woke up early this morning...

Too excited to apply primer on the helm...

SORRY PICTURE HEAVY...:confused Please nevermind the filthy backyard...:facepalm

One last shot before primer application...

Primer ON...

I found a mesh laying around my father's shop and used it for the teeth... just like the movie helm...thumbsup

Next will be separating it into 3 pieces... wish me luck...

Seeing your first helmet is what really made me decide to try my own. This one is once again a masterpiece! You have hands of gold to be able to sculpt bondo like this! Do you only use 60 grit sandpaper and metal files?

theres only one slight thing i notice. on the top right of the picture the rail for the faceplate doesnt seem to be totally straight. other than that its perfect

Thanks... glad I inspired you to make your own... from the start to now I only used 60 grit sandpaper... but I will use higher grit as I get near the finishing stage... :thumbsup
