Limited Run Iron Man/War Machine Repulsor Kits - Now on Sale!!! 10/5/2015

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man/War Machine Repulsor Kits - Update 3/21 - new video demo

I'm still very impressed. If I was me making this and I found out I had to do that I would have been like "screw that".

Anyways, I plan on ordering soon. One question, are you selling the servo kit with this yet so I can purchase them together?

Sent from Andriod

Yes, it is a lot of work... I haven't done it for profit... it has been a labor of love. I have been working (off and on) on this circuit for the past 2 years. Starting from no knowledge and building it piece by piece until we are finally at a level that I am very proud of and I want to share with everyone that wants one. I would have to charge a lot more money to make up for all the time I have put into this. However, it is a good thing for everyone that I have enjoyed this process. I knew how much work was involved going it on this. Basically, you guys are paying for the parts and for the time to assemble the kits and ship them out. You get all the R & D time for free. ;)

Thanks for your comment and I will be selling the servo kits soon. See the first post on this thread for updated info and make sure to check the 'Discounts' section.

I am so excited to have this in my suit, people are going to be so impressed. Of course I will be giving you all the credit on the repulsers and servos.

Alright, well put me in the interested list and when you get the servo kit done I will purchase them together.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man/War Machine Repulsor Kits - Update 5/18 - Now Taking Ord

question: does it 'always' fire once the magnetic/reed switch is triggered?

ie: there is NO difference between the 'wind up/power up' sound and the firing sound? its all one (audio) clip?

can you put your hand up.. and make the charging/power up sound.. but NOT fire? and just power down when the hand is down (connection broke?)

(I like the mechanical aspect of the reed switch.. this added with use of an accelerometer or another sensor could be helpful) :)

thanks!

From the first post:

Even the sound files can be customized by you. With the programmable sound module you can make the repulsors activate any sound you want. There will be two sound profiles loaded on the repulsors when you get them. Profile 1 will have the power up/blast sound then standard power down sound and Profile 2 will have the power up sound then standard power down sound (no Blast). You will be able to switch back and forth between them and they are programmable.

The electronic Hall Effect sensor is much better than the mechanical reed switch.

As far as the sound module doing anything else... we are always looking at new possibilities, but this circuit is complete the way it is. Maybe if you want to wait for the V2.0 then you might get more features... but it might be more expensive too. The more features we put it then the more complicated it gets which makes it harder to assemble, usually calls for more parts which in turn bumps up the price. So just keep all that in mind.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man/War Machine Repulsor Kits - Update 5/18 - Now Taking Ord

hall effect/reed switch..... I meant the approach of using it how you did is what I liked.

how do you 'switch' from profile to profile then? (curious)..

this has to be done 'on-board' somehow? a switch? a parameter in a config file? is this something that is field changeable?

the comment about doing more was not aimed at YOUR hardware.. just a general comment about how the 'hall effect' sensor is used to trigger the power-up. (was thinking another sensors or input could then trigger the FIRE).. think of gesture recognition for example...
again not for YOU to do on this project.. :)

and I 'do' understand what it takes to develop boards like this.. design, part searching & ordering, R&D time and code writing..etc..
I also assemble them myself too (re-flow..etc)

Also.. I didnt see how are the sounds user changed? microSD card? (I couldnt tell from the YT vid)

thanks!

Hey darkside, does this only include the electronics/leds or does it also come with the hand plate/replulsor glove?

Payment sent man. Thanks! FYI still interested I. Your supreme sound kit too.

Reed Switch/Hall Effect - Got ya now... yes we considered many different possibilities for triggering the effect and this is the most reliable for the main trigger.

Yes, it is possible to do as you are saying. We were trying to run some tests with pretty much exactly what you are saying but if we decided to do that then it would have taken even longer to finish the design and it is not a necessary feature. May be cool though.

There will be a 2 position slide switch on the circuit board to switch between sound profiles. Depending on where you mount the board you could have a helper move the switch while in costume if you wanted.

All this info was added to the first post as well. ;)

Interested super hero kit.

Ok put you on the interest list.

Hey darkside, does this only include the electronics/leds or does it also come with the hand plate/replulsor glove?

Everything it comes with is listed in the first post. It will not come with the glove/gauntlet. I will be selling those separately after I mold them... I want to remake the glove and then I have to make a glove for the other side as well. They probably won't fit larger hands though. I will start that thread when the time comes.

awesome!..
thanks for the reply!@

(great project/product!)..

(oh..how does the user change the sounds? missed it!) :)

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man/War Machine Repulsor Kits - Update 5/18 - Now Taking Ord

hey Darkside I am interested in the Superhero Repulsor Kit combined with Servo Sound Kit... don't know if I have to PM you with this info or if this is okay

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man/War Machine Repulsor Kits - Update 5/18 - Now Taking Ord

I did..

(why I asked about it)..

maybe I just read/understood it wrong..

the user can NOT change the audio file? (or they can?)

re-reading.. I think you mean they can only change between the two PRE-DEFINED audio profiles you program into the board.. yes or no?

I was asking about the user being able to user their OWN sounds? (user changeable)

not switching between the two profiles with the switch.. (the actual audio sounds used/played back)

hope that makes it more clear now.

thanks!.

The servo sound kits aren't ready to go yet but hopefully soon. I will put you on the interest list for the repulsors. You can send the payment for the repulsors when you are ready and then I will move you to the appropriate run (First, Second, etc).

Ok sorry it wasn't clear... I will read it again to see if I need to clarify but here is how it will work:

The Superhero Repulsors will come programmed with 2 sound profiles. Profile #1 will have a power-up/blast sound and a power-down sound. Profile #2 will have a power-up sound (no blast) and a power-down sound. You will be able to switch back and forth between the two sound profiles. The sound module is also USB programable so if you have a PC (not sure about Mac, I will have to check) then all you have to do is hook up a mini USB to USB A cable to the sound module and your computer. I will give you the software and the instruction manual. You can put what ever sounds you want onto the sound module. You can have it bark like a dog when you power-up and moo like a cow when you power-down if you want.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man/War Machine Repulsor Kits - Update 5/18 - Now Taking Ord

whats the servo sound kit consist of I can't seem to find any info on the main page about it...

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man/War Machine Repulsor Kits - Update 5/18 - Now Taking Ord

Sweet!..

thats the info I was getting at. (didnt see it in post #148 or #1)

USB it is!

nice job guys!

cant wait to see the finished boards you end with! :)
