Limited Run Iron Man/War Machine Repulsor Kits - Now on Sale!!! 10/5/2015

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man/War Machine Repulsor Kits - Update 3/21 - new video demo

We got the circuit pathways all layed out and etched the board last night. Started to hand solder all the vias :wacko Then we will move on the the other components. Check out the new prototype board, it is double sided... the hardest part is getting both sides lined up so all the through holes and vias match from one side to the other. It is even harder when you are dealing with such small pathways. We nailed it on the first try.

whow, I didn't know you were having to make your own freaking chip... i'm extremely impressed.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man/War Machine Repulsor Kits - Update 3/21 - new video demo

Well we are not making the chip itself but a chip doesn't do anything by itself. We have to give it what it needs and tell it what to do with the 'tools' we give it. but if you are referring to the circuit board then yes we have to make it but just the prototype... once we test the prototype to make sure that the circuit board is working the right way then we will be ordering boards from a manufacturer that will mass produce them in small quantities. This testing process is necessary cause if there is an error on the circuit board we would not want to find out about it after we ordered boards for everyone, lol.

Thanks for the enthusiasm guys. I like to see that. It helps keep me motivated on these big projects. I just wanted to reinforce though that I am not taking orders quite yet. I will be shortly though so keep checking back or subscribe for updates.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man/War Machine Repulsor Kits - Update 3/21 - new video demo

I was contacted by a member that was concerned that this circuit would be too big to fit in his suit based off the bulkiness of everything in the video. I wanted to post here in case anyone else was wondering the same thing. The setup that you see in the video is not the circuit board ... that was when we had it set up on a breadboard... it helps during testing to have it all spread out like that. I posted a pic of the circuit board a few days ago. It is something like 42mm x 75mm. Then you will also have the batteries and that is about it. you could mount the circuit board under the handplate if you had the batteries in the gauntlet but I will be setting it up to put the circuit board and the battery pack in the gauntlet.

I will put up all the info once the prototype is done and I will also be adding a video of me installing it in my gauntlet.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man/War Machine Repulsor Kits - Update 3/21 - new video demo

How easy are these going to be to retrofit into my IronMan M7k gloves , ditto arc reactor and double ditto full sound board with speakers , and yes I know you are still working on these!! , just wanted to make sure, so I don't compromise and mount a servo or whatever, where you recommend something to go, is it just as simple as -- plug and play!

I think the hardest part of the install for most people will be IF they want to use the light pod that comes with my kit. What you will have to do is cut a circle in your glove the size of the light pod (this will be easier with foam). Paint the pod to match your suit then insert through the hole you cut and glue in place from the back side. It is pretty straight forward and I think just about anyone can do it. The rest of it will just involve finding a good place to mount the circuit and batteries. I recommend putting them in the forearm gauntlet. There should be plenty of room in there. It might also be possible to put the circuit under the handplate but I will be setting it up to go in the forearm.

The simple arc reactor I am making is a wearable reactor designed for a Tony Stark costume, however, you can install the housing in your suit if you like. If this is what you want to do then you might want to request it without the shoulder straps. Either way, this is ready to wear or install in your suit.

The servo sound units should be small enough to fit into the hip pods, in the knee, or anywhere in between. So it is just a matter of attaching it to the armor. You mentioned a full sound board with speakers... are you referring to the voice/sound system I am working on or was that the servos sound kits you are talking about. I have not developed this enough to know for sure what to expect but I will be making these with the same principles and goals in mind that I use on all the products I am making. I am trying to provide you guys with feature packed, compact yet powerful, as complete as possible, easy to install, and affordable products. So you could say that my goal is to make these as 'plug n play' as possible.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man/War Machine Repulsor Kits - Update 3/21 - new video demo

Thanks , you explained that so well ! If I'm honest , it may be both the sound/voice and the servo sound kit ( servo sound first, want the suit to look and sound realistic! )

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man/War Machine Repulsor Kits - Update 3/21 - new video demo

Ok, I am going to post this now so that hopefully I will give you guys a heads up. Although, I know not all of you check the forum every day or every 15 minutes like I do, lol. Maybe you are set up for instant notification by email. :D Anyways, We finished the first prototype last night! We did a little video and I will be uploading that later today. I showed the main functions of the repulsor again just to show that the prototype works and to show the size. I will explain a little more when I post the video.

So, the whole point in making a prototype is to find errors in the design. We found a couple that we had to fix. We are going to make the necessary changes and then order our circuit board. Once it is manufactured and we have assembled it then I will make and upload the final demonstration where I will show all of the features and functions. On that video everything will appear as it will when you receive it and I will also show you how to install it in your gauntlet.

After I upload the prototype demonstration video later today I am going to start forming the interest list for the Superhero Repuslor Kit. I will also start taking orders. As in all my for sale threads, I will make and ship the repulsors in the order that they are paid for. Once I receive your payment then I will move your name from the interest list to a Run list. I will do 10 kits per run (that's 20 repulsors). The first run will take the longest to crank out because I will have to order all the parts and wait for them to come in. So I estimate 4-6 weeks to get all the parts and assemble the first 20 repulsors. For all other runs that come after that, I should have enough parts to continue production without that delay.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Ok Guys,

The new video is up. Take a look:

Here is the link to a demonstration of the new repulsor circuit prototype:

I am now making an interest list and taking orders. Please post your interest and refer to the first post for updates and new information.

I'm still very impressed. If I was me making this and I found out I had to do that I would have been like "screw that".

Anyways, I plan on ordering soon. One question, are you selling the servo kit with this yet so I can purchase them together?
