Iron Man see through eyes - CONCEPT

If your rear lens was mirrored, it would do a lot to intensify the glow, mirrored or something to pickup the light and intensify it.

I can't find mirrored tint so I'm trying to work out something to reflect from the bottom, I'm also going to try etching the front lens and see if that helps. If I could find mirrored tint it would be perfect lol

I totally agree :) mirrored lenses work great ;)

I haven't looked too much, might be able to find it but tinting laws are pretty strict in Canada. I think if I put 4 lights in it helps, just have to set it up better.

uhm, strange! here I could find mirrored foils in car-glass shops or window shops.

This works better. Hard to tell whether it's really giving the glow I want. I think I'll have to do it completely to know for sure. What do you guys think?

I agree it would - I'm going to see if I can find some. I think not etching the front will help too - the tint I have does reflect a little bit and the etching makes it a little harder to look through.

getting better! I still think a mirror tint back lens will fix all problems.

Just not giving the glow that I think is necessary for the eyes. Works great in the dark but not for in the light. Going to see if I can track down some mirrored tinting and remove the etching.

Keep going man! We're all cheering for you...

... mostly because we're selfish and want to buy a set of these! lol

The sizing looks good. I think I'd have to also say that the mirror tinting on the rear lenses would really do the trick for these. My only concern with that would be that some types of "mirror tint" actually eat up light instead of reflecting it. It's definitely worth a try though if you can get your hands on it.

Last examples for the night. There's 3 types of LEDs, 2 bright white, one blue and one frosted white. I think going with the bright white is the best bet. If I can get some mirrored tinting I think it could almost be perfect. Pretty close to having a finalized version as far as the frame and lights go. I still have to play with the best way to do the wiring and power but that shouldn't be too difficult.

Yay :D

You can see how easy they are to see through - it's not as bright as it seems, doesn't hurt the eyes and it quite easy to see through. Can't wait to get them finished so I can test them out in the actual helmet.

If you got actual mirror tint you'd get very little light in your eyes. A mirror tint should act just like sunglasses.

stay tuned tonight. Might have some updates tonight, reworked the model and the lights and am getting some mirrored tinting that will hopefully work.

So. Totally. Stoked!! :D

Forgot Walking Dead is on, it'll be a little later or tomorrow. Working on the LED wiring right now waiting for the print to finish in an hour. I got the mirror tinting and it looks pretty good.

Here's some updated pics. Still not getting the glow I want. Hard to tell in the crappy light of my condo but it's not as bright as I want. It has mirrored tint on the one side as well as the bottom and top. Not sure just what else I can try, maybe brighter LEDs will help - I had some and burnt them out LOL I'm gonna order a bunch more stuff and see what else I can come up with. I still think it'll work though.

I do have a question for any electronics experts - I have 4 leds (2 frost blue and 2 clear white) and a 4.5-5v power supply - what resistor would give me the best power? If I take the 100ohm resistor out they get much brighter but that's how I burnt out the others.

the top two are the current ones I'm using, I'm going to order the super bright ones and see what impact that makes.
