I got the itch to get the mk1 helmet in paint.
Black was laid first,then various tints of silver and a fine chrome.

I'm well happy with it.:thumbsup


A few dry days,and a little done on the mk6.

chest and arms painted.

The building up of the sides resolved the airspace issue.:thumbsup

Well been a half decent day,managed to get a few bits done.
A few more pics.

Current state of room, parts all over:wacko.

Getting the back and chest to fit was a bit of a ball ache.
With them both being scratch built they didn't mate,so it was sand back the shiny red paint.
A bit of filler and tweaking here and there,then on with some more paint.

Large Hottoy ?

hi folks
time for another update.

got a few more bits done,but managed to get side tracked a little.:lol

redone the neckseal wasn't happy with the foamy affair.

neckseal master.

mold.

mold,with a urethane rubber cast setting in it.

fibreglass cast.

painted and weathered,to display helmet.

redone the eyes,in a similar style to mightyjohn's,easier for casting and fitting.
closed the backs and put lenses to the front.

lenses fitted.

the plan was to fit the ebay arc reactor intially,but it dont look quite right.

but after seeing matt n the real starks fantastic unibeam.(could do with the real stark living local to me:lol)

the thought was arc or unibeam ?

so using matts as a ref a unibeam was made,and the base of a old ashtray was molded to make a arc,what looks similar to the arc in the mk4 figure.
n i still haven't decided which to uselol

parts for unibeam,foamboard rings.

arc.

then this is where i start getting side tracked:lol

i decided to have a play:lol and make it a little more like the hottoys model:behave

fibreglass cast was taken of the back nthe fun commenced.

flaps removed,and engine?housings built in.

details molded n cast.

radiators etc.im starting to look a every day items to see if owt you can take a mold of.:wacko

Thanks very much omar,the unibeam was using matt great build as a ref,which i haven't ended up utilising.
The arc is just a simple build molded from the base of a ashtray,which i think works well.

Back on track again to some degree,slow progress as things been a little hectic.
The mk6 is just about done,still needs the flaps adding.

After all the calories, it was off for a workout so the suit still fit.
