Hey, Rysjin7717-Its your typical behind the furniture store cardboard boxes. Just find the cleanest, thinnest and hardest you can find. To get achieve the look just take your time and smash the cardboard, and or curve it after you draw and cut your pieces out to make it flexable. Depending on the part you are making. Its very tedious. Use a angle cut on the edges with angle cut shears or scissors you can find at walmart to bond cleanly with hot glue. Make sure u have lots of box cutters, and a multi-pac exacto knife set wit lots of blades.
I glassed the bucket then sanded needed areas and removed the face plate. I also did some glassing on the chest & back then dusted with baby powder. It won't need glassmat on the inside. Its hard enough not to use it.
Baby powder helps fibergass cure faster and takes away most of the odor of the resin. If you try it you'll see. Be careful if you do not to use too much. Just take a paint brush and pour some powder on the surface you're workin on I prefer cardboard. The fiberglass has to be slightly tacky still, but hardening and ( Lightly )dust it on your pep or project at a distance unitl it looks like you coated it. Once its dry lightly brush it into the pep. You'll appreciate the odor being almost gone.Hi, I'm working on a corrugated project right now as well and I'm going to be starting glassing soon. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what did you use the baby powder for? Thanks.
Also, this is looking great! :love I've been thinking about doing an armor with cardboard as well.
