hey man could you upload any patterns for the parts you made because some of robo's parts are hard to pep?
(no offence to robo)

Re: Iron Man Mark 6- second cardboard build

I have parts that are mechanically drawn and hand drawn. I don't know if you would understand how they fit together. Or how u would scale them. and there are alot of single pieces.

Re: Iron Man Mark 6- second cardboard build

Hey, Rysjin7717-Its your typical behind the furniture store cardboard boxes. Just find the cleanest, thinnest and hardest you can find. To get achieve the look just take your time and smash the cardboard, and or curve it after you draw and cut your pieces out to make it flexable. Depending on the part you are making. Its very tedious. Use a angle cut on the edges with angle cut shears or scissors you can find at walmart to bond cleanly with hot glue. Make sure u have lots of box cutters, and a multi-pac exacto knife set wit lots of blades.

Blackdynamo1 thanks for th' tips bra' I think that will help me alot. A YouTube video would be cool, and I hope a pic heavy war machine cardboard build is in th' near future this is awesome bra.

I glassed the bucket then sanded needed areas and removed the face plate. I also did some glassing on the chest & back then dusted with baby powder. It won't need glassmat on the inside. Its hard enough not to use it.

Heh! Heh! I know it sounds crazy but you've got to keep run off and the nibs to a minimum. It also helps the bondo to adhere to the fiberglass better.

Re: Iron Man Mark 6- second cardboard build

Awesome stuff! Card board gives you the chance to avoid making all those "thickness" parts. You just need to put another layer behind and you're done. It's like sintra. But Cardboard is way more flexible and you don't need heat!

Good job, good luck and keep it up! Nice to see something different instead of the usual pepakura build. At least you have some other means in doing it :D

Hi, I'm working on a corrugated project right now as well and I'm going to be starting glassing soon. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what did you use the baby powder for? Thanks.

Also, this is looking great! :love I've been thinking about doing an armor with cardboard as well.

Baby powder helps fibergass cure faster and takes away most of the odor of the resin. If you try it you'll see. Be careful if you do not to use too much. Just take a paint brush and pour some powder on the surface you're workin on I prefer cardboard. The fiberglass has to be slightly tacky still, but hardening and ( Lightly )dust it on your pep or project at a distance unitl it looks like you coated it. Once its dry lightly brush it into the pep. You'll appreciate the odor being almost gone.

Re: Iron Man Mark 6- second cardboard build

Here's some progress on my IM Bucket. Two layers of bondo finished with patching plaster "lightly" sanded. Then two coats of primer filler. Still have more filling and sanding to do with 400 grit wet sand paper to finish. Then its on to paint. Any sugestions on colors? I used Redfire metalic and Vegas light gold on my last Im build. I want to go different on this one.

This is Bee Eee Aaaa UTIFUL!!!!
Keep up the good work. The only time you know something is finished is when you are happy with it yourself. Just dont go sanding happy! It does look pretty dang decent!
