How will you be keeping the finger pieces together? i heard fishing wire is good for that sort of thing?

How will you be keeping the finger pieces together? i heard fishing wire is good for that sort of thing?

Thanks! I was thinking of gluing them to a red glove. That way i have no skin showing. Ill have to do some work on this to see if it will work and when I do ill post what i did and how it did it.

Ok, here is a screen cap of the arm scaled.

Also from my wrist to the bend of my elbow is 9 inches. I hope this helps you out!

have you tried this on after you've fiberglassed them? I'm about the same size with my hand being slightly smaller and it's tight passing them through the wrist. Also how tall are you?

Yes I have its a little tight at the wrist part but I can get my hand through with a little push. Also Im about 5'5.

I have a little update too, I was able to paint and clear coat a few parts. Here are some pics of what I did;

Everything after paint and clear coat.

Here are the legs just painted, after taking off the tape I noticed the on the leg to the left there was some gold on the grey! It was a quick fix though was just a little upset I didn't notice the gap in the tape.

and here is everything thats done (minus the abs of course) all together! Im getting excited because its almost done! this picture makes the helm look really big for some reason.

Here is another update, I got a few more pieces done. I was able to finish the chest, back and get started on the helmet. Here are a few pic of what i got done.

test fit after painting the chest.

The back ready for paint.

Back and chest with their red coats. On the chest is the light cover I made out a soda can and some plastic I had from a food container

And with the gold highlights.

All put together and finished, just need to wire the lights and put the light cover on.

Here is the helmet with the first layer of bondo. Will be doing rhe second layer in a few days and then cut the faceplate and back off. After that it time to wire the eyes and hinge for the faceplate.

Iron Baby!!! My daughter kept crawling up to it while i was taking pictures so me and my wife put her in it and got a few shots. =)

Thats all for now, hopefully the next update will be the finished product. Im getting excited its getting close.

I may have missed it somewhere, but what colors are you using? I still have to buy some silver, but haven't seen any mention of the "proper" brand/color to use. Suit looks really good! I can't wait to get some color on mine!

Sorry it took me so long to respond, but here are the colors I use

Red: Barcelona red met
Gold: Sunburst gold met
Silver: Sliver met

And I also put in the picture the clear coat and the primer I use. Hope this helps!

Did a test fit last night, felt good to finally put all of it on. Just have a few more things left to do and a few adjustments but I should be done by Halloween.
