Iron Man Mark III (Dark Asylum)

Re: New iron man suit in the the works

The video doesn't do the detail much justice but I just wanted to give an idea on the function of the shoes, give a better look on how easy they are to move or walk in, I jumped to show the duribility, but I don't recommend this in case you were to twist your ankle that would not be fun.

These shoes are nice but the styrene is about 2-8ths of and inch thick and the base is wood with urithane cast as the lift so it's quite strong and solid but for future versions I will be using ABS for the shells, cause it's much more flexible and stress resistance even in thinker layers, and the black color looks better if paint was to scratch or wear over time.

Re: New iron man suit in the the works

If the shoes have this much function, I can't imagine how the rest of the suit is going to turn out!

Re: New iron man suit in the the works

Great film clip and can't help being reminded of a Dutch man in clogs :)

Re: New iron man suit in the the works

Darn, I was waiting for the riverdance music to start :lol

Sorry, not poking fun. Just what came to mind

In all seriousness, that's great movement in those! I'm anxious to see more of the suit :)

Re: New iron man suit in the the works

yeah, I felt like I was in robocops shoes, a rubber coating paint will solve the sound issue or walkings on carpet would sound better, as for a finished suit my paints will be in friday I'm hoping so I can get shots of the final look.

I understand, sad news is my paint shippment still hasn't arrived hoping it will be here here by monday atleast getting frustrating waiting for supplies to finish the suit, but it will be worth it in the end.

This is AMAZING. I so wish I had the resources or $$ to get an Iron Man or War Machine suit!

Same here! I've been an Iron Man fan since the early 80's and this is a far cry better than the poster board armor suits I made back when I as a kid!

We all have to start some were before it was plastic it was basically concrete and burlap, and who didn't make poster board armor or costumes the good old days.

Re: New iron man suit in the the works

Ok so finally my paint shippment got in and I ran tests on the plastics with and without primer and putty to get an understanding on coats and how it works on the differant layers of materials I'm using.

So I can start painting this prototype, I've been fixing any overlooks or mistakes to the molds from what wasn't quite accurate on this prototype so to new suits will be 100 times better.

And I couldn't help myself I started building the new war machine, in between drying time on materials I've started molds for the Ironman 2 War machine I can't stand the inaccurate sculpted helmets I've already seen and want to build a good replica, note that is just opinion not and attack on anyone. Given all the layered nicely angled parts vacuum forming is the best way to go, worked great for ironman and will be even better for war machine, but aside from that I'll get pauinted parts soon as I can get things done there.
