IRON MAN Hall of Armor W.I.P. Updates

Soon, I will be painting my Mark VI, does anyone have a favorite method of painting the foam. I know how to, but I want to know whats the most accurate ways to make the paint look like metal. I normally paint the whole thing silver, then add x-metals red to it.

For mine, the plan is to use Xrobot's method, which is 3 coats of PVA glue, one or two coats of smooth on urethan plastic to give it a hard look an feel like fiberglass, then primer, cherry red/gold/silver touch metallic paint for cars, weathering with black acrylic and a little bit of silver on the edges, and finally a gloss. But using silver paint as primer is a good idea, although the metallic red/gold usually already shine like painted metal !

Lookin' good brah but ya really need a camera that takes clearer pics, can't really see any of th' details very we'll, keep up th' good job brah.:cool:cool

Thanks, yeah I normally take the pics with the iPad, but since this is a big build I will take he progress updates with a camera.

Would you guys prefer me focus more on the war machine armor or the mark v more next?

Wow! This is beyond awesome! Doing all the suits, making them wearable, housing them on some thing that'll help you suit up, working HUD and all?! MY GOD! Are you the SON of Bill Gates? :) Best of luck my friend! I can't wait to see the whole thing done!!

Looks like a piece of the Iron patriot or Detroit steel on the table. The silver bicep with the gold plate and red trim.

Wow, just saw the Mark 8 from Iron Man 3. I have to build this one and add it to the Hall!

Looks like MK 7 with more gold to me ? Look at the shoulders and gaunts, it's very similar. However the chest seems slightly different. I'd go with MK 7 pep file as a base if I were you ! And wait for a better shot too :p
