Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico 100% complete see photos page 11 (pepakura)

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Foxw what is rebound 25? It is expensive? How is work?
I want to make molds of my IM, but it will be too expensive to me right now, but who knows a near future, let's see.
Here the pepakura IM pelvis, I had to cut and add paper again in diferents areas to make it more accurate, the good thing about this pieceis...... it is just one piece, not two legs, or two arms, ect........it is just one pelvis:lol
By 2 or 3 days it will be done

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

With talent like yours, why - WHY would you want to buy an Iron Man suit? :confused

I have an idea how you could (possibly) get some more $$ to help buy resin, etc.: you said you made a detailed video of the actual costume. I, for one, would gladly purchase reference materials! What's cool about marketing your own video is that you are selling your own work - so there's no copyright hassles!

Did I read this correctly?...

How are there no copyright issues? :/

As a matter of fact, I was going to post that question as soon as I found the proper thread: Where can I find good reference material?

BTW, did I reads correctly that your armor is scaled to a 6'2" figure? I'm 6'2" :lol
Well... actually there is a copyright issue with that. It doesn't matter if he makes the video, Iron Man belongs to Marvel. No matter what, if he sells anything that even refers to him it's copyright infringement.
But anyway, the suit looks so good! I love how the hand looks so far. :D

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Thanks again i can wait to finish this costume,
few more weeks it will be done.

I stand corrected, and apologize. I was looking at it from the perspective of selling a personal "home video" :confused

Rebound 25 is a silicone mold compound that you can brush on by SmoothOn, but i'm Also designing a DIY home 1 peice vacume press that anyone should be able to build cheeply which might better suit you as i'm not sure smoothon ships to your region.

Yeah, that all comes down to whether or not Marvel as a company feels like bein' a jerk. From a legal view, it's kinda like saying "you're making money off something we designed, that's not fair". I mean usually they don't care, I was just making sure there are no misconceptions because every once in a while some poor, unfortunate soul gets a "Cease and Desist" letter threatening them with legal action. :)
Anyway, @Maulfett I have a newfound respect for scratch building, I tried making some gloves like you did and failed horribly hahah!

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Thanks, Rebound 25,silicone sound great
Urethane, i believe is cheaper and make almost the same result, i will consider it, there is company name smooth on i almost sure they do ship to P.R.$$$$$$$$$$$$, let's see near future.
sharkhead7854 About the gloves i still working on it, i know it is take time, sometimes i just stop, then i work in something else to rest my mind, then i comeback with a fresh mind and new ideas. Today i will work hard on the pelvis armor. Wish me luck.

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Thanks for any helps.

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Hey Maulfett,

Did you save copies of the pep files? I seems that the link on Finhead's thread goes to a "page does not exist" page, as does most of th elinks on the 405th.

I grabbed copies of what I could find that's available, but I don't have the abs or boots :(

I have to say again, your armor is amazing!

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Thanks for the help Version up, and for all the coments.
I 'd been working very hard with the armor, i went back to some parts to make it looks better, specially the triceps, top back trapecius, pelvis and thighs are atttached :wacko, need bondo and primer, as soon as finish i will post some photos. Need to fix the calves areas to make it looks more accurate. Abs and torso done in pepakura only, need some adjustment then fiberglass with it.
