Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

*gasp* is the hot toyz photo the one i told you about at siwdat?

Not sure Ben. I found a bunch of these a while back. That toy is so awesome. Can't seem to find any of them under $300 though. Darn limited production! Just can't see paying that much or even more from what I have seen!

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Wao this project is taking me too much time and effort, but i almost finish.
The torso is done, this was a pain in the butt, but i got it.:angry
just some little gaps that i have to seal ...
few more days i will put all the pieces to see how it looks....( i know how it looks but i need to fix some minor details first) then i will post the photos.
I just need to finish
1. the new helmet 75% done
2. Gloves 60%
3. need to fix calves area of the lower legs
4. more putty filler ,primer and sand to seal a lot pin holes and rough areas

And that's it, the complete armor will be on primer for one or two months until i get some cash :cry to paint it

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Just a little update, fingers are basically done, few more days i will post more photos of the complete armor except the lower legs, they are under extreme fixing time.

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Very nice progress Maulfett! I'm still assembling my pep helmet but I can't wait for mine to be in that stage of the process; fiberglass and bondo stage. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Hey Maulfett
It's unbelievable what you've done with pepakura stuff.
I think your work is very inspiring to many people to make their own suit.
Keep up the impressive work and let us take a part of it. :)
Very very nice !

regards
Mike

Thank you guys, just wait when i finish the lower legs and the gloves looking @#$% great, few more days i will finish :lol, i had been almost five months, a lot work just by myself with no money. But right now i'm very happy.
Bimmer yes and no about the helmet it is a combination of sharkheads and the hd dubean33 v.2, i had to play with both helmet until i got right, there are not special pep files i'm using dancin files most of them, he did a good job, and thanks for that but most of them are little out of porpotion in that case i used my sculpt skill but instead of clay i used paper.
Did i write this info correctly? sorry for my broken english

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Thanks guys, 3 or 4 days i will finish the new legs plus i did a little modification to the thighs, now the looks accurate. Photos very soon

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Where did you download the pepakura files for your upper+lower legs , foot and the abs?
Thanks

BTW, I am using your ironman as my target!

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

check this thread you can find some of the dancin fool pep files, http://www.therpf.com/f24/looking-dancing-fool-ironman-pepakura-file-92123/
and in the 405th you can find more pep file from him and another menbers.
Remenber most of the pep files that i used i modified after i asambled and sometimes after fiberglassed, like the thighs right now i did not like them, so i cut and add paper here and there and fiberglass on them, like i said before, it is like sculping just with paper.

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Here is a photo what i'm talking about it is like surgery, it is not a secret i'm using my scultping skill but with paper, cardfoam and tape..there are not a perfect pep files, they are very accurate, but most of them need to be modified if you want to make a almost replica suit.
For me and just me because it is a personal challenge i want to make this suit 90% or more on accurate or identical, 100% no ones cannot make it, aleast you have the originals molds, i just want to make the best i can.
That's it me.
Good luck if i can help you on something else let me know i will try my best.

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

The thigh file is damage and says "no data for development"
Could you upload them again.?
Thanks!
