well not to de-rail or hi-jack, what i use is screws they had from homedepo. I think timecon had video posted on youtube. and for the line's on the helmet i use a dremel fine detail-er bit.

Thanks guys, pep files for the ironman is on the 405th halo, or here in this foro Finhead has a thread with all the files for the ironman suit he is doing.
Pepakura is a great method, but you need a lot extra photos for reference to compare your work, some parts you need to cut or add paper. All depends how accurate you want your suit. Thats not mean that my suit it is going to be 100%, but i will try to do my best with mine a least 90%. 2 and half week i will have the legs done.

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Here some photos of my booth in the PR comic Con before the opening day last weekend, a lot fans got me crazy asking me about my paintings and the Ironman armor, that's why i have been busy, for now i will continue building the other ironman parts.

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Ok, here is the IM thighs, wao they were hard to made them, next week the lower legs, the lower legs are easy to make only the size, they are very long and take too much time on sanding.
Like i said before, i'm not very good on fiberglass, but i decided where ever i see a rough skin area on the armor i will paint it as a battle damage with silver paint...;)
I hope you like them

Maul, looking good. What part of PR are you at? I'm in Aguadilla.

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

thats looking great, a little more sanding and it iwll be perfect :)

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Thanks Darthchiro, yes, when i get all the parts done i will try a little extra sanding plus i will try to get automobile primer, but like i said before any rough area left, it will be battle damage :lol

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

It will look great bro, your overall shapes are very nice so a little scratch here and there is no big deal

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

The lower legs pep is done, i need to cut some area, tomorrow finish the fiberglass inside then bondo filler ect.......

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Ok, some people asked me about where i get the pep files that i using, i used the ones that is already done in this forum, and the 405 th forum. The only diference is that i made some adjustment cutting and adding paper to all my pieces to make them more movie accurate base on my point of view with my reference photos, hopely and the end we will see the result of my work and you guys will be the judges.
Here in Puerto Rico it had been rainning the last few days, and i don't like to work with resin and fiberglass with this type of weather so i keep doing more pepakura stuff.
On the hand section, thanks to the video of Making ironman 2, i did my own pepakura handmake (not computer) just adding paper to get the right size for my fingers, then if the weather allow me i will resin and fiberglass all the pieces of the fingers, then with a dremel a will cut and reduce all the division area of the fingers.

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

ON Sunday at 1:16 am here in Puerto Rico we had a earthquake 5.81, i got scare like hell, thanks to God nothing serius happen, but we have to be prepare. Also is still raining everyday on and off, so i still doing other parts but not fiberglass, i'm working with the armor fingers using sintra, plus just finished my arc reactor version 1, i like this one because is easy to make like $6.00 cost me to do it. Except the flashlight i will buy some rings leds in couple days, and my Ironman will have some battle damage so this version of the Arc reactor 1 will be perfect like the last battle he has and the end of the first movie.

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Looking good! I dislike using resin as well, so this is an inspiration for the Iron Man helmet I'm starting up soon. Keep it up!
