Iron man 3 Mk 8 in pepakura - A collaboration work

Ok. No one said you had to. The suit will be in 4 bundles. Making it $40 total. Look at pep files in the jy. This is a bargain.

@Royal Dump:

Please don't mention sales related thing (i.e. price) in this thread. Junkyard is the right pace.

Please note we have guidelines too, and let me quote:

10) Price "bashing" is not allowed. If you don't like the price of an item, don't complain about it, just don't buy it. If you are interested in buying an item for less than the displayed price, send the seller a pm (personal message), and make them an offer. If the seller says "no" or doesn't reply, move on.

It was not very nice of you to wrote that.

I have included lots of pictures regarding our build, so you judge yourself the accuracy of the model. There is no measurement on accuracy, except subjective opinion, so we won't claim how accurate our design.

haha What! I suggested this a few pages back and you said it would be too much work! What changed your mind? Not that I'm complaining. ;)

Thank you for reminding me!

What changed my mind is GrayFoxFlavio's incredible job.

And the fact that I incorporate new technique in this foam build.
Most of Mk5 build is actually make the base form, and adding "plates" or details. I can "cheat" this in different ways and I can do it fast.
So it is now possible for me to do Mk5 (in my mind) without too much work.
All I need is pep file for base (generic) form, or I will make duct tape dummy and scratch build it.
Same as Mk1.

That sounds more or less like what I've been trying. I made a super simplified "under" armor (out of 8mm foam) and then built the plates on top of that using either more 8mm or foamies, depending on what the plate needed.

When you say you need a 3D model dummy, I assume that you've already looked into the myriad of basic human anatomy models that are available for Blender, right?

I am not into Blender. I used to be pretty good at 3dmax but that skill is lost all of the sudden and I am too lazy to start over.
I want to take my own measurement first (something that I SHOULD do for a long-long time). Convert that to 'matchstick man", then attach it to body shape. But that's occur only in my mind, no action ever....

You said you are building Mk5? If you interested, I will help you (at least making suggestion) for it.
PM me if you interested.

Oh sorry, I thought you said at one point you were using Blender. Still, whatever modeling software you're using, I'm positive there is some sort of human analog that you can find available.

I have been vaguely working out ideas for a Mk V but it's all free hand stuff. So far just the front part of the chest. I'm a programmer, I couldn't model my way out of a paper bag!

Oh the amount of software used in this project are a lot! Helagak is using Blender on several/major parts. I am using it only for file format coversion.

Being a programmer will not stop you from impossible! :lol.Look what you have achieved so far! Again, if you need my help.let me know.

Yeah, I'm a programmer, modeler, surveyor, mechanical engineer... Nbd.... ;-) lol
I am building a functional mk 5 in auto desk inventor for 3d printing. My plan is to make a mk5 that ACTUALLY transforms from suitcase to suit. It's all in cyberspace at the moment. I but people are Gonna **** when it happens. :-D

Lol well it should be pre ty easy to export just the plates to make a pep-able suit. My main problem is figuring out the actual mechanics! Woof!

Sound like a new project coming in.

I saw in youtube, they making it already, although the size of the suitcase is not movie accurate and it requires "helper(s)" to suit up.

Helagak, I know what you're thinking about suit up "the plates" :lol.
And I had some suggestions for that. In fact, I had different approach to this build, totally different. PM?

Actually, I am pretty unimpressed with the transforming mk5 on YouTube. Just wait till you see what I M trying to come up with. I am keeping this project to myself haha.
