Iron man 2 - Spoilers!

I saw it over the weekend. I thought it was OK, but I agree that it wasn't near as much fun as the first film. I didn't laugh nearly as much. I liked the 3rd act well enough as a long action scene. The story just wasn't compelling or engaging for me. No chemistry between any of the characters. I'm sure there were thousands of Iron Man comic book fans geeking out over the triangle chest light though.

Scartlets character IS important to Shield. Black Widow though they didnt really tell anyone who it was ... so it is kinda fanservice but...IS important. Guess that will come in later. Though guess they just are gonna skip the whole starting as against Iron Man and the whole Hawkeye thing.

And maybe this is the problem... they are trying to lay the groundwork for the Avengers movie and it has been cool with the little nods, like Captain America's shield and all, but with Black Widow... she just did nothing truly useful for THIS movie other than to serve as eye candy. Her placement in the movie was just awkward and didn't really serve much purpose in this movie's storyline.

Her character though was monitoring Tony. SHIELD had been keeping an eye on TS at the moment he announced that he was Iron Man. She had been reporting on his suitability to the Avenger Initiative. So I personally saw how she fit in. Oh yea and there was the "eye candy" :love

Looks Like Mandarin could be a front runner for the next villain - which would be great. I was fine with the armor being used with the bad guys in part two because it was such an ongoing issue in the comics, but I think that is enough and I like the idea of a battle with science VS sorcery as well.

"IRON MAN 3

With a $133.6 Million dollar opening US weekend and a worldwide take of $327.6 Million so far, "Iron Man 3" is assured, but as we look toward the Marvel films already filming, I'll conclude the Iron Man specific coverage with this tidbit from MTV News in which Jon Favreau discusses the third film and mentions the Mandarin"

Here's an interesting link I've just come across outlining The Mandarin references in IM 1 and 2, it's an interesting take on what Fav may be up to...

The rings aren't magical. They're alien tech that the Mandarin found.

Well , right after the credits that Shield Agent goes and sees a huge crater , inside the crater is Nancy Grace and she has broken out of her skin to reveal 4 arms, huge claws and she has the head of men around her waist like trophy's. then she hits a stealth button on her arm and runs off.....That is left for Iron Man 3.....scarey....very scarey.

LOL! Dude, that's awesome!

They must be showing alternate endings in different places, like they did with the movie Clue. When I saw it it showed the crater and Rom the Spaceknight climbs up from it. The costume looks almost exactly like it did in the comics except it says "ROM" real big in his chest.

In Australian cinemas they had a different ending. It still had the crater in the desert but the middle was a chunk of ice with Captain America in it. Nick Fury was chipping off a bit to put in his drink.

It was only on screen for a second but I think it was a strawberry daiquiri.

They talked about that ending on AINTITCOOL - Harry mentions that if you look quickly you can see Cap is in the same position Han Solo was in in Empire - fav's tribute to Uncle George

My theater's ending had a long push into the crater, where RDJ and Fav were spooning in a tub full of money shouting "Fooled you twice, shame on you!"

My theater's ending answered the most important question of them all...

There was a crater - and iron man was in the middle - flat on his back. He got up slowly holding his head. Iron man's knees started shaking under the weight of his armor, the arc reactor power fluctuating.

Iron man lifted up his heavy right gauntlet and hit a few hidden buttons to reveal a security panel. He entered 1, 5, 6, 2, 4.. and then the camera quickly pans slowly down his armor to his crotch.

There's a loud hiss and steam that comes out as the suit depressurizes in that area... The crotch piece breaks in half and folds upwards into two pieces revealing IM's boxers.

Pan back to iron man's butt - and through his legs you see a stream of pee.

Roll Credits. :lol:lol:lol
