Interesting article on new xbox

MS is going to lose all their customers if they get rid of the free silver live account. Sony is going to have a leg up even if the rumors aren't true thanks to MS' inability to get the PR department to say something.

That controller was an old Xbox controller shopped over a new 360 controller, :lol

These clowns are really making me mature quick. Realeasing this just after BF4 comes out?! I'm sure the high price will keep from abandoning 360 though.

And the capabilites are lacking. Blu ray without movie playing? Higher priced Live?!

Raising the prices for the sake of raising them it sounds like. I remember the complaints about a $60 game. :facepalm

These guys are making me mature faster than I had wanted. Guess I'll just stick to my RC planes and costuming for awhile...

Honestly, if that's how they want to play it...I'll likely jump ship, too. I'll keep my 360 to play what games I have for it, and either get a PS4 or...not. I do more gaming on my PC again now than I did for a while, and that's fine by me. I'd like to be able to play a few games with friends on 360, but I'm not sure I want to shell out the cash to get whatever the new console is if they keep raising prices without making it worth my while.

Originally, I made my decision on PS3 vs. X360 based on the games available, but there's very few Xbox-only games that I really want to play anymore, and nothing for the 360 that I probably can't also get on the next PS.

It's more than just that. I think it's also the samey-ness of the games. I mean, I enjoyed Battlefield Bad Company and Bad Company 2 largely because of the destructible environments and the objective-based gameplay. Battlefield 3 changed map designs considerably, and had some real balance issues, and just reminded me of what a drag Battlefield games can turn into. It was fun, but ultimately it felt pretty much the same as the other games. Now we have Battlefield 4 coming out and I really just don't give a damn.

You really need to play the Battlefield games on the PC. It's a LOT more fun with 64 players.

Hopefully the next Deus Ex game will come out soon too.

I do, and I have. It still got tired for me. BF3 was fun for a while, but I lost interest in it after Armored Kill, which had craptastic Rush mode. They were -- as usual -- slow in fixing it, and by the time they rebalanced the C130, I'd already moved on and haven't been back since.

I hope the new Deus Ex game takes place right after the last one, the nanotech storyline from the originals have no interest to me as i'm a cyberpunk with cybernetics kind of guy. They really need to remake the original game for newer systems and offer it.

I tried playing the original...I did NOT get the appeal from all those years back. The voice acting was AWFUL. Ah well. The new one's not bad, though. I'm not quite finished with it yet.

The whole "nano tech does it all" thing didn't appeal to me. I mean the story is good but it's such a clunky game to play and good god it looks bad on a big screen tv. I'd rather have the Deus Ex cyberpunk feel, especially until Cyberpunk 2077 hits. My complaint about the newest one was that half the stuff in the extended cut trailer never got into the game. It's like they wrote the trailer separately or rewrote the game.

I tried Deus Ex. Wasnt crazy about it. Story was ok but it dragged a bit.
I guess these I'm not looking for anything with too much depth. That's why Prototype had so much appeal for me. Pretty mindless.

Either that or they were rushed to get it out by the suits. I'm replaying HR and my main complaint is that, unlike the original Deus Ex, this one forces you to play it a certain way. To get max XP points you have to go non-lethal on everyone. Not to mention, you don't ever use codes you find because you get more XP by hacking them. Also you'd think that if half of your sentries are taken out, someone would probably check and notice most of your sentries are not at their posts. :lol

I agree. I'm annoyed by the ending too, now we know where the crap ME3 ending came from, and that DLC was crap too as it blatantly belonged in the game to start with.

I'm just amazed how divided gamers are over DRM and sadly it's not just younger gamers who have no issue with it. At some point gamers are going to be so brainwashed and raised on digital downloads that they will have no idea of true ownership.

Exactly.
"If you buy this car, then you won't be able to sell it and you are only allowed to use it on a road. You are not to drive it off-road and so on" Doors and roof are sold separately.
Or buying books... people buy and sell used books all the time. Most people have easy access to a photocopier and still we don't get that many pirated books... buying a game should mean being able to sell it, use it just like you would with a book. Not having to buy an actual key to unlock the very last chapter of the book you already paid for.

None of that is definitive and merely speculation. Until they actually release all the info, it's simply rumour.

It's already definitive. Games that require codes in order to be able to play online. Games that require you to be online *cough*Sim City*cough*... game discs that come with content that you have to pay to be able to use, even though you already paid for the whole freaking game disc.

Very true. And at the end of the day, depending on how sick the games look, the price tag will mean very little to people.
How many people bought a $299 Xbox and a $199 Bluray player?

Some people just bought a PS3 instead... lol

If even half these rumors are true it's going to hurt. No parent's going to shell out 70.00 a game for their kids then 120 for live. Hell most college kids can't even manage the 60 a year now for live. That controller better be fake or it's the worst designed thing ever. I think sony's already making sales off these rumors about the xbox.
Of course it's fake. The base is the old original Xbox controller:

what possible titles will MS have to entice us?????

Halo 5!!!! *yawn*
Halo before 4 was great. But with 4 they screwed up everything, EVERYTHING. The design of things... the brilliant music we had come to love... everything was just gone.

What's driving away people from MP is the fact that parents buy their 12 year olds these games that aren't meant for them and the little turds run around being asses.

Yeah like certain military shooters which are supposed to be TEAM based and all that. Instead you get 20+ players all doing their own thing. Laying down in a bush waiting for someone to run past them only to use a knife on them, repeat X millions of times. Booooring. Where's my Half-Life episode 3? :(

$500 for another broken system? No thanks.
Broken System? Yes, BROKEN system. Bought the 360 the day it launched. It last 8 months, then it died, love that RROD. The next one they replaced it with lasted 4 months. The longest lasting 360 console I have had is mu current one which has lasted about 2 years. It is my 10th console....... TENTH.

Actually, it isn't. Right now nothing is confirmed but merely rumor. Just because some blogger or two on the net has "sources" that say it is, doesn't mean it's true. They can't back up their findings or name their sources because it'll result in someone getting fired/sued so no one can verify anything. Until the press conference, the new system could be a giant vibrator with a controller port. Can you prove otherwise? nope. The system may or may not require a constant internet connection. Who knows? I guess we'll find out on the 21st.

As for the 360 being a broken system, i'll agree that it had its problems. I've owned 4 systems. First one was in 06' and it lasted a year before RROD. Sent it to MS and they sent me a refurb. That lasted 8 months before the disc drive went **** up. I bought a cheapo arcade system brand new and the drive started going on it as well so I sold it to my buddy for $100 and I went and bought the GoW3 slim unit. I haven't had any trouble with it yet except that it freezes on BF3 but i'm certain its the games fault and not the system.

PS3 isn't innocent either. I've heard of tons of people having theirs screw up. Hell, I have two friends that had their system mess up. My one buddy is on his second PS3 and my other buddy has two PS3's that are toast in his living room with his third one sitting on top of them.

I LOVE those people in BF3. Most of my knife kills are from bush wookiees (campers, snipers who sit far back, etc.). :lol

CoD multiplayer is pure Rambo. There's absolutely no teamwork whatsoever. At least in BF3 there is a ton of teamwork even when your team are full of Rambo's. That's why I quit playing CoD religiously. I was a hardcore CoD fanboy and one day downloaded the demo for BF3 with Op Metro. I had fun playing so I said **** it and bought BF3 and I loved the game. There was teamwork, giant maps, vehicles, etc.

When it comes to the game, I'm what I like to call a Team Rambo. I will focus on killing as many guys as possible but if I have team mates down, I'll revive every single one of them, I'll repair vehicles, set up spawn beacons and TUGS, etc. If I see my guys going for a flag, I'll help cap. I'll flank enemies and kill them all so my team can move forward. I've lost count of the number of team mates that I've had jump on the back of my dirt bike and transport them to capture the flag.

I actually started a Gulf of Oman map with random teammates and we all jumped into one of the transport choppers with miniguns. We had an amazing pilot, myself and another on the miniguns and 2 engineers using torches. We went the entire map without dying and we shredded the enemy.

Yeah i'm not sure what to make of that. Why would they have an internal memo about it yet not announce it and win back gamers?

It would completely defeat the purpose of having a conference to announce the system and its specs if they just start telling everyone about it over the net. I actually commend them for trying to keep everything tight lipped and not confirming or denying rumours. Everyone is so used to previews and movie trailers and screen caps and leaks and all that other crap nowadays that they have a fit when they can't get the info right now.

Whether they announce right now or in a month whether it is always online won't make a difference. Good for them sticking to their guns.
