Interesting article on new xbox

MSN and Yahoo have been flooded with pro xbox one articles about how revolutionary it is. You can tell which gaming and financial sites are paid by them just like you can tell what game company is paying the review sites at any time. I'll laugh if the PS3 is just as bad but Sony kept quiet.

My personal favorite is "It does not always have to be connected, but it does require a connection to the internet". Could you BE any more vague and confusing?

If Sony doesn't plan on doing this sort of thing themselves, the best thing they can do is wait until their E3 conference to mention it, in plain no-BS English, in front of God and everybody, rather than just send out a press release. Especially seeing as their conference comes after Microsoft's.

and if that fails i got my old systems.

That's my thing. There's enough games I haven't even thought about playing that are good enough to hold me from buying a new console for years.
Sony and MS always make people believe they NEED a new console.
The only way is even consider buying a new one is if they showed me some mind blowing game... Really the only two games that would steer me in that direction are Skyrim II and Fallout 4. There are no other franchises that come close enough to move me.

All the multimedia does nothing for me. Even less now that I'm getting ready to move to a place where I'll be reduced to dial-up.

Skyrim is actually The Elder Scrolls V. :p Not sure if there's going to be an Elder Scrolls VI since Bethesda is releasing an MMO based on the franchise.

I've been a day/week one adopter since the Super NES days except for the Wii U which I don't have. This is the probably the first time that I'm extremely hesitant doing a day/week one purchase. In fact, I may not even get it at all unless the issues with offline playing, connectivity, used games, HAL 9000, erm, Kinect and a host of other things are clearly addressed at E3. As of right now, the PS4 will be a week one purchase but I'm also going to wait to see what they have to say at E3 about things they keeping silent about until then.

Even if I don't get one of the next gen systems at release, I still have quite the backlog of games that I need to complete achievements/trophies on and the couple of games I have on preorder. And I also do a lot of online PC gaming as well. So, I don't NEED to have a next gen console, the issue is if I actually WANT one.

They said there would be, so there better be :p

Hell no :p in fact with the latest console announcement they even mangaed to make people not want it, period.

OUCH, I personally haven't used that in over 12 years, can't even imagine what it would be like going back to it.

Xbox one is too vague, complicated and a bit of a white (black) elephant at the moment...

However, i just got an email from Amazon UK asking me to pre-order PS4...the price? £599.99......!!!!!! six hundred quid for a bloody games console??????

i think i'll stick to my PC and 360.....

That's just a placeholder price. They did the same for the xbone. The had it listed as 999.99 at one point.

I paid 600€ for my ps3, a few days after it came out here in my country, so I personally wouldn't see it as a shock if it is around 600 again... Then again I don't play on my computer, console only. But I really hope Sony wont do anything like Microsoft, I trade games all the time with buddies... I have an XBox 360 I never turn on, I won't have an XBox One.

Ah.....i kind of thought as much...i now notice they have xbox one on there for the same price......regardless.....i've always bought consoles on the strength of the games...or for one killer app....i'm not buying , or getting excited by a bunch of tech specs and "wow, you can talk and wave to it!" stuff.....

The game swapping with a buddy is probably the biggest turn off. If I basically have to pay every time I stick a "new to me" game in my machine I won't play anything.

I bet Nintendo would make a fortune if they re-released the original NES. I'd buy that over the new Xbox at this point.

There's a whole lot of conjecture flying around this thread, and MS has contradicted itself enough times that I think everyone concerned about the used games policy might as well just sit it out and have a cold one while they get their **** together and release an official statement on the matter. E3 isn't that far away.

Also, quit white knighting Sony. It was exactly the same rhetoric the last go round and the 360 still outsold the PS3 here in the states. I guarantee you that once one of these companies devises their solid policy on used games the other will follow suit quickly, and with very little to differentiate. They're both in it to make money and increase their market share. Neither of them care about you personally. Get used to it.

At the current time, the two consoles are looking very similar technically (with a slight edge in speed to the ps4) and Sony has yet to unveil the new lineup of features for PSN. Don't expect them not to start charging you for the stuff you want. They're looking at the big pile of money MS makes from Xbox Live and drooling with maniacal glee, bet on it.

Anyone else think it's funny that the THIRD Xbox console is named Xbox ONE? :)

The conjecture here is directly related to how MS has addressed things. WAY to vaguely and with little to no emphasis.

If the used game market is such a big deal why haven't stories been plastered everywhere about the new scheme of MS/Publisher setting the used game price and taking nearly all the money from it? I've seen all of one artlice on it. You'd think it'd be bigger news. It's as if even the media outlets have looked at the new consoles and just said 'meh'.

E3 is a week away... and right now most people seem to really dislike the Xbox Three(!), I'm very curious if opinions will change next week :unsure

Even has a way better design, also less blocky. So glad I still have mine(and it's still working, unlike my first 360 which died after just 8 months :facepalm :lol)

Funny? no. Stupid and just plain idiotic? Um frak yeah.

Nintendo should reissue the machines if not the games. i mean they'd make a fortune considering folks are buying the cheap knockoffs for 50.00 each. i got a knockoff nes for 20. Its not the best but until i get a spare NES it's easier to hook up and if it breaks i'm only out 20.00. Just wish the knockoff snes was that cheap.
