Actually, I'm gonna have to agree with Larry. I don't see that it has anything to do with Mel being a woman. There are plenty of guys who get the same treatment.
Oh, and for the record, I'm also female and I don't recall ever being attacked on this board.

Well as a man, I usually would tone down or back off attacking a woman. As illustrated in this thread, knowing that she was a woman didnt stop some from their taunting. There has to be some chivalry left among us.

Does it? Or perhaps... can you imagine a world where a person says something silly in the community and is given a good-natured ribbing... regardless of one's gender? Where men and women are both treated equally? Where when someone slips on a banana peel, everyone laughs, regardless of the gender of the pratfaller?
Sorry, man; if you do something that's worthy of pointing and laughing, I'm going to point and laugh. And I expect the same from all y'all. We're all pals here; we don't need to be protected from high elbows.
