"He's at home... washing his tights!" :lol

I'm having a lazy day.. just being a bum. It's GREAT! Melissa is over at her sister's house watching the sister's kids. I had to deal with them yesterday and wanted to get some stuff done HERE today so I stayed home. A win for both of us.
The dishes are done, the meat for dinner is marinating, the pink kool-aid that Melissa loves is made and in the fridge, and I'm about to catch "The man from Nowhere" on netflix.. all-in-all a good day. :thumbsup

^^ I knew about this one and was showing Melissa a picture I had saved of it last night. I didn't know about the other ones. Awesome!

I scanned these two from an old STARLOG.
I've been told that the small man is no longer on the existing model.

"With many tedious hours necessary for the Mothership sequences, occasionally someone would invent a way to break the boredom. "One Saturday it rained," recalls Jein, "while we were working on the wiring, a rather boring job. We sent out for some guacamoles and taco chips. Peter Anderson, Dave Jones and myself wound up in a taco-guacamole fight. You could hear taco chips in the Mothership during rotation for weeks afterward. I think they're still in there!"
Paying homage to George Lucas and Star Wars on screen in a discreet manner was just another way of livening up the experience. "Dave Jones made a small R2D2 that was stuck in as a joke. That one was just buried in the myriad of columns in the back of the ship. It was Doug's idea to do this during the first appearance of the Mothership, so he suggested that we put the R2 in a fairly visible spot. We later took it off and I made one that had a fiber-optic light in its head and placed it right in front of four banks of lights. It's the only in-joke you can actually see in the film!"

I haven't posted here at the RPF in some time but I do stop by often.

I have been a member since this fourm was an AOL entity and long
before the whole G. Follano / Galaxy trading ever came about and
the now famous lawsuit. Don't let the post count or date fool you
and I never asked to have the original count and could care less.

What I find amazing is that someone with the name JEDI in his user
name would act in this manner toward a member who signed on and
had something of interest to post. They are new to the board and
wanted to join in but now they have this shadow lurking every time
they want to sign on and share information or learn something.

The post was made in the movie section and many haven't seen
the photos before and found it interesting. (including my 11 year
old nephew who visits often) It was new to him and he found it
to be something of interest and ran to find the movies on DVD so
he could try to find them on the screen.

What I find amazing is that I saw Jedifyfe's video on youtube
with his amazing daughter watching Star Wars on the screen
and he took the time to sit with her as she was surrounded by
Star Wars props as her eyes were glued to the screen as he
spoke to her of the characters and identified them with her.

The video I watched of Jedifyfe and his daughter was a great
example of what is truly good about Star Wars and how no
matter how old the films get the new fans both young and
old are still discovering it with eyes wide open and a yearning
in their hearts to be a part of it all as I did in the theatre back
in the 70's.

I find it hard to belive that in 20 years he would appreciate
someone attacking his daughter online in this manner if she
discovered something new to her and wanted to share it with
others.

Perhaps it's time to put the Jedi robe back on .....

I'd be willing to bet in twenty years Brad's daughter wouldn't think that sort of mild ribbing was an "attack" in the first place.

And on the off chance she did, she'd probably just rip one of the guy's balls off, hold it aloft as a proud trophy and yell, "JUST LIKE DADDY!"

Yes sir, but it wasn't a big deal.....she has already been back and is posting again. I am not defending anyone, but it was (and I was a part of it to) taken beyond what it should have been. It was not that serious of an offence and certain parties got extremely mad about it. All in all not that big a deal.

Live and let live.

But, Ben! This is the RPF! It's awesome to come to a ten page thread a week later and be outraged even after everyone else has started talking about something else.

A year and four months ain't exactly new bub.

Welcome to the new and improved RPF (Relentless Prodding of Females). Just kidding.

My daughter will have enough ego and confidence to not have anything said or written bother her. I mean she has me as a dad, so I know she already has a thick skin.

Anyway, thanks for your "input". Check back in few years again to let us know you're still breathing. :thumbsup

AWE YEAH! I am going to teach her the "Kill Bill Eye Snatch Move"...I'll just modify it a little. :lol

And my faith is restored! :) Seriuosly mate, top post!!

YAY! Now I can sleep better knowing that your faith is restored... now go back to asking.."Tell me about the rabbits George."

I just now read this (yes Im a gravedigger) and was rather surprised. A rude comment was made with no apology and then others defend the offender. I would have to conclude it was because a female posted. Rude is rude and a gentleman would have apologized.

The last guy that was rude to my wife got his **** pushed in. We should all try to be kind to each other as much as possible because afterall we are a civilized people. You can try to flame me but I am not a woman and dont let the newb status fool you. My prop shop is replete with all kinds of wonder and my background is checkered at best. :cool

I love it. Mel has moved on past this non-comment and we STILL have white-knights coming to her "defense".

You cannot write this stuff, Brad!
