Indiana Jones Harrison Ford Full Life Size Bust Display That I Painted With Crate

Always a pleasure to get a positive compliment from the actual artist of the sculpt.
I consider this sculpt to be the best likeness of Harrison Ford out there & it captures his personalty perfectly with his trademark smirk.

This particular mannequin is a vintage mannequin made of fiberglass & I think it may have been a Rootstein.
Vintage mannequins have some really unique poses which are well suited for different projects or characters.
I removed a good portion of the neck, shoulders to fit this bust on & I had to make a supports inside the body & attach the bust with screws.

The crate has a eyelet screw & the mannequin has a eyelet screw in his back under the clothes that was wired together with high end picture hanging wire.
I did not want to take any chances of a face plant.

Looks great! I was just recently in Gatlinburg and went to Ripley's Wax Museum and they have a KOTCS Indy. It looked awful. Most of the sculpts in that museum were just terrible! I don't know who they hire to sculpt them, but they seriously need to consider hiring people from this board.

Now, that's a great idea!

Thanks again guys.

I really prefer the laid back look of Indiana Jones just sitting back & relaxing as opposed to a standard standing pose.
Most of the time standing mannequins tend to look like a toy soldier unless you modify the mannequin.

I also find that the older the mannequin the more realistic the hands tend to look.
I have been rather fortunate to find vintage mannequins with crossed legs & crossed arms that can really pull off the attitude/personality of the character.

I never knew that this old thread got bumped.
Thanks again for the positive comments.

It was a really fun project & a fun paint up.
I lost count of the time I put into finishing this display & tracking down the parts to finish it the way I wanted it to look.

Wow! How did you get HF to sit in your living room. But seriously, top marks for a unique display of our favourite adventurer. :cool

I recently finished my Indiana Jones Harrison Ford Life Size display.

I took the time to remove the sculpted hair from the bust & add real hair which was quite a bit of work.
I also haired the eyebrows & eyelashes were also added.
The eyes are glass.

I made the crate for him to sit on & weathered all the clothes on the mannequin.
I am 100% happy with the finished result & will not be tweaking it anymore..
