Indiana Jones 5

Re: Indiana jones 5 still happening?

SS has said he wont do it unless GL comes up with the story. So if you hated KotCS, you don't want any more Indy movies. And on a personal note, I don't want to see anyone but HF playing the role. Anyone trying to do his thing in that role would just **** it up royally IMO. So if people don't want him back, I say let the franchise fade away into cinema history.

Indiana jones 5 still happening?

The difference with batman, james bond etc is that they're all book characters brought to life on film. Indiana jones started as (well tom selleck) ford and he despite his age, IS indiana jones. Clint eastwood is dirty harry. These actors are so iconic in their role, they are the part.

I'd like to see indy in a lower point in his life. Older, grumpier like in raiders but still ready to take on adventure of he must. Not 'helping' the enemy in search of science. Love to see some of his 'spying on the reds' life and adventuring.

Everyone says GL screwed up, i can that, but he and SS still brought us 3 great other adventures. If they make a more serious movie it could work. We'll see a wiser indy due to his age, but still the heart of a young indy.

Re: Indiana jones 5 still happening?

If they do a prequel or something, I'm okay with the "new" Indy being an "old" Indy actor... Sean Patrick Flannery. At least he's already connected with the character. As long as they don't make him timid, like they did in the series.

Re: Indiana jones 5 still happening?

I will write it then. This one will involve Indiana Jone's sister Susie.

Re: Indiana jones 5 still happening?

So, is she a stripper, secretary, spy, teacher, house wife, or women's rights activist? Would be too lame if she too was an archeologist.

Re: Indiana jones 5 still happening?

So, a zombie then. That's novel.

There are many myths involving resurrection, reincarnation and even 'what if' scenarios brought upon by illusion or magic. You know? Super natural stuff that the Indiana Jones series is best known for. Ever since I learned that Indiana Jones had a sister in the series I alway wanted to learn more about it, especially how it affected Indy as a person.

Re: Indiana jones 5 still happening?

The problem with resurrection and reincarnation - the whole bringing the dead back to life - is the fundamental reason they'll have to come up with as to why Indy loses it at the end. It's become too cliche now to have the hero go on a quest to find something, find it and then lose it again, with the whole complex crashing down around the hero, who barely manages to escape alive. It's too formulaic and gets tiresome after a while.

If things Indy finds keep getting seized by the US government... I think it's about time getting more into who they are and why they are doing what they are doing and why they are just stock-piling things in boxes in a large warehouse without looking into what those things are and what they can do. Who or what are they saving it for... why aren't they researching it... who allows them to do this and why?

After some more thinking, I think I might be agreeing with Bigdaddy on this one. Even though I wouldn't mind a new actor playing Indy, it might be time to let go...

If I was writing this thing for real, I would not abide to that 'fundamental reason'. In fact, I have some pretty weird ideas in not only having it stay, but also still fit in with the old indy footage from the series without contradicting anything.

and this was done in The X-Files TV series anyway.

Re: Indiana jones 5 still happening?

indiana jones 5: indy goes to space and becomes a smuggler.
han solo means henry jones in corellian

Re: Indiana jones 5 still happening?

Yeah, but I'm going to stick with the super natural, not science fiction.
That was the wosrt part of TKOTCS, trying to wedge sci-fi into a series that had always been about the supernatural

agreed. just as I mentioned yesterday:
Quote:
IF they do another one it needs to be set in the desert ( on a horse with no name ) perhaps Baghdad or somewhere in Egypt and filmed in a real location setting (not CGI world) and based on an age old legend along the lines of what Raiders and Last Crusade were based upon. Old world religion and artifacts and curses...
just set it in a lost Archaeological dig with "bootie twaps" and only Indy's cunning and knowlege and dumb luck to get him out alive. That would be Indiana Jones to me even if he is 72 years old. Have a side kick worthy of being such but not Mutt Williams.

Re: Indiana jones 5 still happening?

you want indy done right, two words: Animated Series

I've said that before and I'll say it again. A decent..ADULT oriented animated series. The Indiana Jones adventures. Indy and Ravenwood, Indy and Wu Han. Make Indy the darker adventurer he was in the beginning of Raiders, not another family adventure 'romp'.

On a side note I saw the first 3 films back to back in a theater Saturday. Great day!

Re: Indiana jones 5 still happening?

Indy has NEVER been an adult themed story, if it was I wouldn't have grown so attached to the series (my parents wouldn't have shown it to me!). I doubt any studio would cut out the kids demographic IF they produced another installment of Indy in any form. Frankly what would it add? sex? violence? swearing? I don't think Indy needs any of those things (gratuitously) to tell his story(s) :)
