How's this for interrogator droid needle?

i think it depends on how picky you are about your torturedroids :)

at some point i'd really like to build one of these...

this is one of the best pics of the needle i have of the needle from the one that's touring now:

(full sized verion here: http://tk7602.com/gallery/albums/MoS-reference/IMG_9020.JPG )

the overall size looks about right. the needle is in the center on the czech one and offset on the everett one on the droid (would that have been that way originally? why would the syringe have an offset needle?). the back end of the everett one, near the plunger, is a hex shape, where the czech one looks like it's either round or multifaceted.

why would the syringe have an offset needle?
[/b]

I believe this is because the front of the syringe is not tapered to the needle like it is today. I would think it was generally held with the needle at the bottom: no air bubbles, every bit of medicine possible to get out. At least I would assume this to be true but I am no expert. It makes sense though.

that sounds logical. i hadn't thought of the taper.

Here's my MoM needle pic from a few years back:

Slightly different angle than the one above.

Here's mine I took a few months ago at the Columbus, OH COSI exhibit. I thought it was funny because I have a son named Everett. He thought it was cool.

I have a higher res pic if someone needs it.

I dont know if this will help anyone or not, but, I worked for Linens-N-Things for three years(just finished my last day there today) and there are a few items here and there that could be useful in the prop community, one of which is the flavor injector. The flavor injector is a syringe that looks very similar to the interrogator droid needle, with some modifying it would look perfect. Also, as the needle is thin but not razor sharp, it would be safe to have on display with your custom droid. Or your Kurt Cobain display. Im also pretty sure we sold the V for Vendetta book light/ listening device inhibitor thingy.

What I find even more interesting is the little Box the czech syringe comes in. It reminds me of certain belt or ammo boxes....

Alright, you two, spill it.

Re: How's this for interrogator droid needle?

Does anyone know how many CC's (what size) the IT-O Droid syringe is?

Thanks :)

Looks like the graduations go to 20. CCs?

Re: How's this for interrogator droid needle?

Thanks Robn1, I haven't seen that reference photo before.

Does anyone have a good idea on how to protect the general population from this needle's deadliness while it's hovering over a 501st table during a Con?

If you've never seen the Vader sessions on youtube check it out. Basically they overdubbed Darth vaders dialogue with James Earl Jones lines from other movies. The torture droid is one of my favorites. As it comes in you here Vader say

"Lord lordy what to do when the romancing gone."

Can't help but think of that every time I see that scene in the movie now.
