Howard's latest Vader cut-away.

Jaw dropping job, as always :eek

Yeah I usually brace my chin with something before opening one of howards cut-away threads!

I honestly wish LFL would give him a job making sabers for there cross section books. And make some of his designs cannon, because they are always closer to what you would think it should look like than the actual pics they have in there books.

(y)thumbsup

As always.

that's really great! What a sophisticated attention to detail you have. Great Job Howard...The circuitry interlaced with the rods, the wiring, just the parts alone are visually appealing to look at. How many hours have you put into this?

Thanks to everyone for their kind words! :thumbsup

Great to see you back, Andres.

To answer a few questions:

Trooper TK409 - The red led illuminating the crystal is inside the brass tube at the centre of the circular grill section, here.

oldken - Now that would be great! I'd really love to know what is thought of my efforts at LFL!
lesternessman - It's taken hours and hours. I should have clocked in and out, but on the whole these builds take around four months working part time. A great deal of time is taken cleaning and polishing the parts before putting them together. In fact, more time is spent just arranging them to see what looks right, rather than actually building.

Here's the last few shots of the finished saber.
Thanks again everyone!

Howard :)

Howard that is insane !

A shame that we didn´t meet you at CE !!! We were constantly looking for a bandanna covered head, but nope, TK-whatstheirnumber only, no mad scientist prop builder !

Awesome work, really inspiring !

Michael

Hey Michael! Thanks!

I spoke to Chris at the art area and he said he'd seen you and Markus.
I walked around for a couple of hours looking for a red bandana also, but there were so many people there.
We probably passed each other a couple of times without knowing it! :lol

Cheers!

Howard.

I use old clocks, wrist watches, calulators, cameras, VCRs, remote controls. Vintage stuff's best - although I used a 35mm Canon camera on this build.

Your parts/greebly bin must be as impressive as your saber builds. Truly a work of art!

Seriously, someone over at lucasfilm books has to see these. They need these photos to become part of the archive. :ninja

As always that cutaway is truly awesome! (y)cool:thumbsup

Let's hope you can avoid the silliness that followed your Obi cutaway auction.
