Very nice shop but that damn PEX plumbing to the slop sink made me cringe, I hate that stuff... :)

Looks fantastic Howard! All your hard work has really paid off - what a fantastic workshop for you to create some more magic!

Cheers,

Chris

WOW! You only see stuff like that in those movie-magic shows at the Discovery channel. Awesome, very inspiring.

This is a dream come true for sure! I've been wanting (and needing) a bigger work space for about three years now. I can now tackle those cool projects like 1:1 Raptors, or full size figures, maybe even a full sized T-Rex head! The skies the limit in a bigger shop :)

Fantastic set up. Looking great Howard!
Is that a little Marty Mcfly bust I spy there next to the Stormtrooper helmet?

Yes, that's a 1:2 scale Marty I did for CKing about 4 1/2 years ago ;) Good eye!

Man that looks so Hollywood FX man! Can I borrow a small corner? :lol My garage does not do that justice! i'm so jealous! Green as Slimer with envy! I cant wait to see whats under those black bags!

Steve

:lol Black plastic bags= top secret toy gigs ;)

Wow!!!:eek
Howard...I may have asked you this before. I see a buncha skulls about in those pics. Are they just for coolness, visual reference, or do you actually sculpt onto replica skulls? Or do you just use a headcast to sculpt on?

-Rabittooth

Those are castings from real skulls... great for reference ;)

Believe me, I've already swept a ton of dust... these big shops can produce it and I've already been working in here for 2 weeks while putting things together ;)

Very nice shop but that damn PEX plumbing to the slop sink made me cringe, I hate that stuff... :)

No way... my good friend and excellent plumber did this job on the wash tub and it's sweet!

will you adopt me? can i live in there? i will keep everything clean for ya! :D

WOW awesome Howard congratulations man, I know how you feel, it feels great doesn´t it:thumbsup
It sure looks like a great studio, and I am looking forward to see some new masterpieces soon. Hey that Bruce Lee looks amazing:eek

Looks great Howard. If I'm ever in your neck of the woods, I'd love to stop by. What's that vader helmet I see on the shelf? :love

Very nice!

It would cost a fortune to heat a place like that in the UK lol... but guess you don't have that sort of problem with the climate you have in the US. Its very interesting seeing your workshop with all those tools and turn tables etc etc... Can I ask you... Is the micro wave for cooking purposes or softening Chavant? :D

Also quite exciting the various heads in the background and the stuff covered over by plastic bags. A really nice interesting place to work in. Soon you'll be able to create some massive sculptures... Lifesized T Rex :lol

Anyway, good luck to you man, you deserve it:thumbsup

Yiks!!! Thats a bit of a cold snap you were experiencing there! Did you not make a snowman? Bet that would have been something to see :D

Con grats howard. I belive that working under a roof like that is every sculptors dream. Nice to se how orgonized you got each part. :)

Never said there was anything wrong with it, just a personal preference maybe because I'm more old school... Add to that it's also not legal where I do most of my work, so it's not even an option...

Anyway like I said nice shop...

Damn, just checked out the photos and you have a nice space there. Full of creative energy, and some amazing work. Long hours will be spent there I'm sure, so I wonder if we'll see a couch show up in future photos.

:)

Howard, what size of "life-size raptors" are you gonna build? The 60 lb. Velociraptor Mongoliensis, the 160 lb. Deinonychus, or the monstrous Utahraptor, which weighed a ton at 9' tall and 20' long? Or, you could just make up your own size, like Spielberg did, in JP. Whatever you do, though, my recommendation is to not give them feathers. I realize there's new evidence out there that these (and many other therapods) may have been feathered to some extent, but in my opinion, the addition of feathers to a dinosaur seriously detracts from its coolness.
