How to stand up HIC without it falling?

I am almost complete with my HIC. Mounting it to a wall in my house is the easy part. What I am trying to figure out is how to stand up HIC in an open area if I wanted to bring it to a comic con as a 501st display piece. Not sure if anyone has done this before or has any ideas how to do this? Some of my ideas are: Find a TV Stand for Large TV's, A large angled dolly or having a metal fabricator custom make a stand. Thoughts?

ha' i recently have started thinking about this same thing! i plan on doing a HIC for next years comic con.

i was figuring making some aluminum brackets to lean it back a little. i also plan on making some foam walls to look like jabbas palace to put behind it

maybe incorporate the wall into the leaning brackets

I saw someone in their build thread used a wall mount for a flat panel TV. Those things are designed to hold a couple hundred pounds.

that's how i plan on displaying mine when done.

but at a con it's hard to do that with a wall tv. that's why i plan on making some time of leaning bracket.

kinda like the dollies used for moving 4x8 sheets of sheet rock

I was thinking a leaning bracket as well. I have a stand idea in mind, but I need to start asking around for metal worker to weld something up with brackets.

I think I found the answer. I noticed building maintenance throwing the below out. I am going to get a bigger base, new 2x6's and expand it out. then attach that to HIC between the two brackets. It comes half way up HIC and will have 4 mount points.

nice! yeah bolting it down to a 4x8 piece of 5/8th plywood may do the trick!! acts like a giant foot print

I am thinking of 48x60 inch base of three boards glued and screwed 3/4th sanded plywood. That should give me a nice secure base with room to build a small Jabba palace wall around it in the future.
