How-To: Chaser Circuit For Flux Capacitor?

Hi all,

New posting to the forum but a long-time lurker. I have a replica Flux Capacitor I bought from a guy YEARS ago, and the chaser circuit has self-destructed. I've torn the entire circuit apart trying my best to fix it with no results.

Can anyone explain what parts are needed to re-create the flashing/chasing internals of the Flux Capacitor? All threads I find deal with the exterior and torr relays, etc. Thanks in advance!

I used a set of led christmas lights that have different sequences of light effects (from ebay). One is chasing lights that speed up and slow down which works good for a flux capacitor. The only trouble is it doesn't seem to stay on the right effect when I turn it on so it's always random when it starts. Still..its a very cheap option.

Thanks! Right now I'm still working on how to get LEDs wired up. The whole resistor situation is throwing me for a loop.

The why's of the resistors, or which ones?

The why is to limit the current drawn by the LED to prevent them from self destructing.

Which one depends on the LED's and the power source.
